  1. @Ham The turtles and snakes just seek me out.
  2. Wow! Looks like you're having a great time! That's a nice Jeff-Fish ( @Quillback)! 😁
  3. "There is a small population of giant paddlefish and AGFC is “looking into allowing a snagging season in the future,” according to the post."
  4. I offer high entertainment value, but only about a 50% chance of successfully netting your fish. To be fair though, if the jousting and stabbing motions I make at the fish with the net manage to dislodge it...it probably wasn't hooked very well in the first place. 😅
  5. Best of luck! 👍🍀
  6. See my post above.. . there are some well-ventilated options. 😁
  7. Soooo many great choices in Jeans these days. Which did you pick?
  8. Did you try them on first?
  9. You went to the haystack and found TWO needles!! Awesome fishes! If you ever decide you want to catch a small fish, just to see what that's like....I can help. I love seeing the big fish you catch! Keep 'em coming, please!
  10. Plus, this technique is better for the environment. Your kidneys will help filter the water you drink. Otherwise, you just be pumping/dumping filthy bilge water!
  11. Dang, man! Watch out for that spiked watermelon!
  12. Have you seen this DIY tip for draining water from your boat? 😝
  13. I caught some Goldeye each of the first 2 years after I moved to StL, but none last year (although @Ham caught a nice one...14"?) and none this year. Strange. I suspect the water levels in the MO River and creek I fish have not allowed fish to migrate up this tributary like they normally would. Very cool fish!
  14. Wow, nice LNG! Tough buggers to catch, but really cool critters!
  15. He obviously hasn't met @Ham 😁
  16. Hooray! You got some rain! That's a step in the right direction, at least...
  17. Amen Dave. 😜 We all should be cognisant that each of us is on our own ride through this life. Some never eat what they catch, some only fish for food. Neither is wrong, as long as there are still fish to be caught. Heck, based on the struggles I encounter while fishing, with fish I know are there REFUSING to bite.... I know my way IS NOT necessarily the best way, or at least sometimes it certainly isn't. I still enjoy it.
  18. Even a 2-year old can catch fish on live bait. If your goal is to catch fish to keep, there's often no better way. Put crispy bacon on my plate, I'm probably gonna eat it. If you want to learn more about the fish, I think the general premise is that it takes more knowledge, skill, and experience to fool a fish into thinking something artificial is food. But that isn't everyone's goal, and that's ok.
  19. Was it like this? Black Vultures.
  20. @Ham Stocked pond (triploid?) Grass Carp are BY FAR the toughest ones to catch. Spookiest fish I've ever seen, and super-picky feeders. Naturally reproducing stream fish are much easier to catch. Supreme skills, man! 🏆
