Silver-spotted Skipper Caught a tiny largemouth bass and 15 Grass Carp on Saturday. Caught some bullheads and 4 Goldfish on Sunday.

Sweet! Nice one! I caught 4 today flyfishing at the bullhead pond, and had a few misses and another one or two shake loose right away.

Pictures or it didn't happen. 😅

This is what I find works: "I caught giant walleyes, a handful of 10 lb + bass, some Master Angler muskies...but only took pictures of the dink bluegills...so here you go." 😬

@Smalliebigs I assume I found your spot...cuz it was loaded with fish. The challenge was trying to keep the fly elevated to the level where the fish were. I think there must have been a midge hatch they were focused on. I had a few bumps, but no takers. Once the fly landed on the water, these big Hybrid Striped Bass were no longer interested. Is this the right spot?

16 pages of "feel the love!" This may be completely irrelevant and off-topic....I know that some people don't like getting teased. But we only tease people we like. If you are getting teased, it usually means folks like you. Sure, some may take it too far...folks like to push limits. In other news...I look forward to hearing your opinions and experiences. These pictures have nothing to do with fishing...just some pics behind our place. The pics are poor quality...shot through windows, etc etc. This hen with her 2 young ones, I took pictures of them before...they have grown from chicks to nearly full grown in 2 months! I got my wife a Hummingbird Feeder for Christmas....Its getting used! My wife also puts out chips, bread, bird seed, etc. I think we are making it WAY to easy on the local squirrel population. They don't even try anymore.

Speaking of Channel Cats...they like Woolly Buggers. Stopped at a lake on my way to the Missouri River. Missed a strike, so threw right back in the same spot: Caught some bluegills and a green sunfish too. Saw some huge Bighead Carp. Tried landing flies in their suction zone as they fed on plankton...no luck. Went to the river to fish off the channelization rocks. Waded through a lotta poison ivy in the woods along the river. Had long pants on. Got out on the rocks. MO River rising! Don't get stranded out there! Saw Silver and Bighead Carp, Grass Carp, Common Carp, and gar. Typical MO fish. Got a couple Shortnose Gar to eat the fly, and one Grass Carp. Saw this as I was leaving.: Wasn't sure what it was...thought it looked like a canine, but wasn't as big as I'd expect for a fox or average dog, and a longer snout... Looked it up when I got home....Oppossum! Went to the creek next. I started fishing my way downstream...I didn't get as far as I wanted to go...The 95 degree temps were getting to me, and my feet were sore from my hikes. Gave it up in short order, but not before I saw this very small (~10"?) gar trying to eat a fish it had caught that looked to big for it to swallow. Caught a gar and 2 more Grass Carp and had a couple rush the indicator and try to eat it.

I checked some Fishmap.org spots. I zoomed in on the closest one, it was somebody's driveway, not near water. 🙄

Makes me wonder how long I should expect the rubber or silicone bags to last before they should be replaced. I think I got my net for X-mas 2018? So, I've used it for ~3 seasons. How old is your net?

Interesting! I noticed a tear in my rubber net last time out...not sure how it happened. Gar maybe? Big musky? That would be weird, since I've not caught a big musky, just small ones. 😬

I was wondering about that. 😜

Do you suppose some of the broken rods might be from "look at me" hooksets?
