  4. You can launch from any public launching area. Launch time for MoYak tournament is 6am with lines in at 630am. Lines out by 230pm.
  5. I targeted a main lake point that was a transituon bank...ledge rock on one side and then chunk to gravel as you go around it. That pointst was in close proximity to standing timber that is in deep water (30-80ft). I caught those fish at dusk in about 6-15ft of water. Some other fish I caught were fishing in 25-30ft of water with standing timber that was offshore. I also caught a fish on a secondary point that was in proximity to standing timber. That was 6-15ft depth range. The bank had smaller rock and some chunk rock.
  6. I launched from State Park about 5pm last night and fished until about 815pm. Wanted to see what the bite was like on main lake. Water was gin clear. I could see the bottom in 12ft of water. I did not see any activity of fish shallow. So I worked a jerkbait (Vision 110+) in deeper water. Water Temps were 54-56. I ended up with 7 in the boat. My largest fish was a 3lb smallie that fought like crazy. It was a lot of fun for the short time I was out. Very windy though. Big rollers on main lake with some white caps. I didn't run full speed in my boat...and I still got drenched from all the spray. Hopefully, the wind is t so brutal o. Saturday when I will be in my kayak. 🤣 I was throwing the jerkbait on a 7ft Med/Fast Abu Garcia Vengeance rod and an Abu Garcia Black Max reel with PLine 12-lb fluorocarbon. I just bought that rod as I wanted to try something atva lower price point. I was pleased with its performance. It cast the 110+ well with the 12lb line and the tip was just stiff enough to twitch the bait well and yet forgiving enough that I didn't lose any fish. The sensitivity was good (24T graphite blank) as many of the bites were subtle. I had used a $20 off $100 at Academy Sports...so the rig was maybe $90-$95 with taxes and the line I already had at home. I thought I would mention this because I saw someone asking about reels under $100. I have almost 20 rigs setup and pro ably 15 are with the Black Max or Max Pro reels. I am very happy with these from a cost and performance standpoint. I have those paired up with mostly Duckett Silverado rods...but, I wanted to try out some options that are a bit less costly for rods. I love the Silverado rods. But, the Abu Garcia Vengeance rods are half the price...we will see if they hold up as well as my Silverados.
  7. Yeah, I usually have a flag and lights as well as a headlamp on. I am still worried that someone may not see me. I try to stay close to the bank unless I have to cross somewhere. I wear my lifevest at all times as well...even when not tourney fishing. I have heard too many stories of kayakers drowning.
  8. I will be participating in the MoYak event that day. There are actually 3 organizations having their kayak fishing events simultaneously on Table Rock that day. MoYak Fishing Series, All American Kayak Series, and Natural State Kayak Anglers out of NW Arkansas.
  9. I use the Abu Garcia Black Max and Max Pro reels. I put them on mostly Duckett Silverado rods. I use these for literally everything bass related
  10. I still haven't put it the time with a Ned rig. That and a few others will be some baits and techniques I focus on. Thanks for the additional feedback on your technique with the Ned! That cove at Big M where the ramp and marina are has been producing some nice fish lately!
  11. Yeah, that bite was tough yesterday! I was up around that area as well yesterday.
  12. Randy's online success is due in a very large part to his partnering up with Jonny Schultz on Fish The Moment. Jonny is very tech savvy and also creates great content with solid info. Jonny created a very solid and successful brand.
  13. Yeah, it was stupid how many large rocks were around the dock. I didn't use the dock...just let my boat drift up to shore where it looked like it was pretty clear. Had my motor trimmed up as high as I could to use it.
  14. So yesterday, we launched from Campbell Point. The water is up as a picnic table and part of the parking lot is under water. The ramp isn't very steep and thankfully I wasn't by myself. We had to back the truck up to almost the front wheels to the water to get the boat off the trailer. It was a bit sketchy weather yesterday. We did get rained on and some soft hail...it was like getting pelted with mini snowballs. Thankfully, they weren't frozen solid!! We focused on flats, runout points, and secondary points with gravel. We also ran some transition banks. Jerkbait was the ticket. The moss is really bad in this part of the lake...so it was a no go on the crankbait. We threw jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, jig, and Rock Crawler. All of our bites were on the jerk. These were the two best of the day. One was 4.5lbs and the other was 3.7lbs. We boated 20 bass with probably 4 or 5 keepers. Today, (Saturday), I went solo and launched at Campbell Point. A fellow fisherman, who I think was there for a tournament, jumped in to help me launch. I had not backed up my truck far enough to get the boat off my trailer and he asked if he could help me. He backed up the trailer and allowed me to get the boat off and over to the bank and brought me my keys after parking for me. That helped A LOT! I tried to run the same pattern as yesterday but struggled to get bit. I did manage to catch a big crappie in about 6-8 ft of water on a jerkbait while fishing a flat. I think I caught 4 or 5 bass...nothing really big. Two may have been keepers. I caught them working bluffs with the jerkbait. The morning was pretty miserable with driving rain and wind for an hour or so. Afterwards, there was a beautiful full rainbow.
  15. I was around Cambpell Point yesterday and both Campbell Point and Big Indian today. Water clarity was easily 6ft or more but does have some stain to it. There was quite a bit of wind and rain so I am not sure how far visibility beyond 6ft. Water temp yesterday was 56-57 and today was 54-56.
  16. I think it was up to 54-56 where I was yesterday. I am sure it will be above that this week. Someone else posted they were catching crappie in 8ft water in brush on Friday. So I am thinking this week and next they will be up shallow.
  17. LoL ..yes the wind was HORRIBLE this past Friday. No way I could have tried fishing for crappie. That is impressive that you were able to catch so many good fish trying to hold a position.
  18. Yeah, my reels were freezing up yesterday morning...it looked like a snow cone of shaved ice after I reeled in my line. 🤣😂 The wind Friday was the worst I have ever fished in...although the gusts today were pretty strong too. It was my first boat tourney. I will do it again next year...but with a different game plan. 😁
  19. I will say this...it was brutal. I fish the lower end of TR quite a bit with decent success. But, I struggled today and yesterday. The pressure definitely made a huge difference. The weather played a part as well. If I fish this event in the future...I will be doing some things different. I did not have anyone cut me off while I was fishing. I did have a couple of people in bass boats over the past three days that were driving their boats like a-holes. Had I not been fishing the event, I probably would not have even gone fishing on Table Rock Friday or today. I generally avoid going if the forecast calls for winds over 15mph.
  20. I only caught two today...largest was 1.6lbs...which was my largest out of both days.
  21. I landed 12 today but no keepers. The wind was brutal. Not to mention snow and sleet coming at you sideways at times. Tomorrow will be a lot more crowded out there...they rescheduled the MLF college/high school event for tomorrow. The bite should be good tomorrow and Sunday. Gonna be tough...but much better weather.
  22. I can handle the cold....but if the winds get too bad, I am calling it a day. Any day fishing is better than sitting at my desk. 😁
  23. Welp...I just registered for all 3 days. It will be my first ever bass tournament in my boat. I did a few in my kayak last year. We will see how it goes. Hopefully, the gale force winds we are having today won't be going on tomorrow!
  24. I may have to try for some crappie this weekend!
  25. Wow! That is a fattie! Nice fish!
