  1. How many ever used this to screw in a loose screw and called it a day. 😁
  2. If you are ever ready for a dog, I would suggest the Pudelpointer. I was in the market for a new hunting dog for waterfowl since my Chesapeake died a while back. I also wanted to do more upland game hunting. So during my search I came across the Pudelpointer. They are a hunting driven, easily trained, strong swimmer, good retriever, pointer, and tracking medium sized dog. Good calm temperament, semi non shedding, semi-hypoallergenic, dog. The coat comes in many lengths and is made for hunting. The breeders are a tight knit group that try to keep the standards the same so that they do not have bad blood lines, bad health issues, etc. They even try to keep the prices down to a strict range. They will be dog that you will need to get approved and on a list for a pup as the breeders usually have a wait list of potential owners. Go check out Pudelpointer Club of North America this will give you most of what you need. They are not a well known dog and the breeders try to keep it that way for the breeding sake. They are not recognized by AKC and that is by choice. They do not want the dogs to end up like every other AKC breed like labs that have lots of health issues, mental issues, etc. The labs have got over-bred since the 1800's. Along with a lot of other hunting dogs. I think this would be the perfect dog for you and your wife based on the lifestyle you live and hunt. Check them out and learn a little about them and I bet you might think the same. I unfortunately was not able to get one because of some life changes around here, but I still might anyway. Because I do need a retriever to help me as I age.
  3. Or you could coordinate with a local beekeeper to see if he is willing to put hives on your property and give you a few jars if they do well there. No work for you and you can benefit from the pollination and have a few jars of free honey. My grandfather and I used to do that on other people property around the area. We had a dozen or so hives spread out all over.
  4. Hope everyone has a successful season! And yes I agree the walk-in areas could be better.
  5. Yes they did. Every place that stores data can be hacked and probably will be at some point. If never, then they are probably very lucky or the data is not worth the trouble. It is the new life we live. But LifeLock will assist and cover me from the hack they received also if I get any identity theft. I don't want to pay for a Identity Theft Service but, I don't think there is any real solution to Identity Theft as long as you are connected to the world. And day by day not being connected to the world is growing smaller and smaller. You can only do the best you can, with what you can, and hope for the best... I guess.
  6. I do not have any knowledge or reviews of pay sites that remove your info for you. I went the DIY route. One because I wanted to learn the process, two because it was free to do other than my personal time. It takes a lot of time and effort to do but once you do you can fairly easily help stop any new things that pop up from time to time when you do searches of yourself. Below are some guides and info to help you if you want the DIY process. Free Guide: Remove personal information from the internet How To Protect Your Data And Remove Personal Info | Abine Have I Been Pwned: Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach How to Remove Your Information From the Web I tried to delete myself from the internet. Here's what I learned - CNN https://inteltechniques.com/data/workbook.pdf https://support.incogni.com/hc/en-us/sections/4904628648850-Data-Removal-Process Remove your personal information from Google - Google Search Help @fishinwrench You are correct that there is no scrubbing once the info is out there. I know some of my info is already out there on the Dark Web. But I do this process to not only "try" to keep hackers from my info but also the general public. Unless you are on the Dark Web searching for data files sold with info, but most individuals avoid the Dark Web and just use any search engine. For things on the Dark Web I use a service called LifeLock to help handle situations of Identity Theft where my info was used to create loans, credit, etc. It monitors the dark web for me and informs me when my info has been compromised. Plus they have a knowledgeable staff and legal team to assist with straightening things out when my identity is stolen. I think that is money well spent, but that is my opinion. It also lets you know what possible fraud items that pop up on your financial accounts, credit reports, etc. It is also like and insurance policy where you are covered for a certain amount of coverage depending on plan type. Now days, and I am sure you have seen it, anytime a your data is leaked from other businesses databases you will get a email from them where you can set yourself up for either free or paid credit monitoring services. LifeLock does that and a whole lot more. You can check it out if you want to make your own decisions on what it can do for you. Of course keep in mind that your mileage may vary. Now back to regular scheduling programing. Sorry for the interruption but I like to see everyone know and use safe practices on the internet. Nothing worse then someone uninformed and do something that costs them their life savings or identity.
  7. 🤣 I am sure someone might want to grab that pic to brag what they or a friend caught. It only takes a few minutes to take a photo and AI yourself or someone else into it. But with a pic of personal info or legal document it is easy to make a scan from it and save a PDF and you will have an exact copy of it to use. I know that many have done that via phone for such stuff as Marriage Licenses, Driver's License, Legal Paperwork, etc. Just to send it via email, messages, or print for whomever is in need of it, like state and fed governments for your records, Dr offices needing insurance documents, and the list goes on. Something that is of the norm now days. Take photo, Scan as PDF and send. Just trying to do my part to keep all you knucklehead's safe.
  8. You might want to re-think this.... If I were you I would not have posted that info without a ton of redacted information. Especially a complete photo copy. This is a public forum and it only takes one bad person to push that to the Dark Web and you will be cloned both in military credentials and financial based on what you posted. I work in IT and see this stuff first hand all the time. I try to keep up on wiping all traces of my personal data from the internet on a weekly basis. Just a warning you might want to think about. I don't recommend anyone ever post any personal data on the internet. Especially photos or photocopies.
  9. James Worley (Kansas City, MO), who I believe is still a member on the forum, is a veteran of the cookoff. He has competed many times there. Named the Limb Bacon Allstars, Him and Chef Brett Atkinson won in the 2017 World Championship Squirrel Cookoff
  10. Anyone thinking of Solar and want to DIY I suggest DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse YouTube Channel. He is very knowledgeable, has very detailed in testing and reviews of batteries and panels. Easy to understand and thorough. He has some very good suggestions for inexpensive systems that should last a while. Pretty much anything from simple small off-grid, whole house, and EV charging systems, etc. My house is electric and natural gas and I have always thought of adding a solar system to my house and grid, along with natural gas whole house generator. This would help in some costs eventually and definitely help in power outages. Here is his website as well Off Grid Solar Power - Made Easy
  11. first thing that came to mind. 😆
  12. You might try permethrin. It is fairly safe product that works well with ticks and chiggers. Basically can wash or spray your clothes with it and let it dry. Lasts for a long time on clothes. They say even when washed. But I use on my hunting clothes and do not wash them at all during hunting season. But I wash and reapply each year. Not safe for spraying on skin like OFF type products. Sawyer's is a good name brand ready to spray. But you can just by a concentrate online or on Amazon and mix your own for a lot cheaper. Works really good for spraying around the house indoors and out. It does have an odor to it but it goes away after a few days or week. I use it on the garage floor and it kills bugs almost instantly. Always finding dead beetles, etc. laying on the floor. I sprayed 6 months ago and I am still finding dead insects that get in there as of today. I also experimented with it during the cicada hatch. They were always crawling all over my front porch concrete pad by the hundreds. So I sprayed about 10 inches in all around the porch. The cicadas that crossed that area to crawl on the porch eventually died before getting somewhere to morph. But after I did that I thought about the birds, etc that might eat those cicadas. So probably was not a very ethical thing to do. So I won't be doing that next time. But I did not see many birds eating dead ones. Only picking the live ones out in the yard. But it is poisonous to cats if you have cats. I do not have cats, only dog. It is safe for dogs and domestic livestock and can be used on animals as well. As always do your due diligence and research it's uses, precautions, etc. thoroughly.
  13. During winter Nov - Jan go downstream to mouth of Osage where it empties into the Missouri River. Fish the seam where the clear water of Osage meets dirty water of Missouri. Bounce or cast and jig 1/4 - 3/8 oz Bink's spoons or give some plastic sassy shads a try. You can catch up to 12 lb hybrids doing that.
  14. I'm still betting Broad Wing Hawk... The broad-winged hawk (Buteo platypterus) is a small to medium-sized raptor with a compact body, large head, and broad wings: Length: 13.4–17.3 in (34–44 cm) Weight: 9.3–19.8 oz (265–560 g) Wingspan: 31.9–39.4 in (81–100 cm) Tail length: 5.7–7.5 in (14.5–19.0 cm) Tarsus length: 2.2–2.6 in (5.6–6.6 cm)
  15. I am going to say Broad Winged Hawk.
  16. Used to stay there a lot when I was a kid in 70's and first few years of the 80's. Spent most my time fishing or in their game room.
  17. Not to side track again... but I was also a member of the Conservation Cafe. On all forums I have ever joined I used the same name Linhardt. Met a lot of people of that site at get togethers, buying/selling stuff, or hunting and fishing with them. Lot of conversations and fun had back then.
  18. I watch that show all the time. Seemed like great recipes they had for those snakeheads even their eggs. They also seem to think it is a great tasting fish. Would be interesting to try to catch and eat one some time just to see.
  19. As I said in another forum where this article was posted. It sucks that a handshake to honor an agreement does not mean anything to most people anymore. Seems there are hardly any honest, trustworthy people in the world anymore.
  20. This may not help for Stockton info. But was down at the 8 mile marker on LOZ and a large group of crappie fisherman were doing different techniques and trolling for crappie produced the most fish by a long shot. They seem to be scattered at the moment probably getting ready to go into summer patterns.
  21. Here in Jefferson City they started emerging from the ground last Sunday night and the past 2 days there have been more and more emerging each night.
  22. Work Sharp is what I use, fast and decent edge. I have 2 models. One for bulk or dull knife sharpening Work Sharp MK2 And one for touch up before each use Guided Field Sharpener
  23. Been by there a few times but never stopped in. But I Googled it today and found this that is going to happen this year in 2 weeks on 3/29. 2024 INAUGURAL EATING URANUS FUDGE GALACTIC CHAMPIONSHIP
