The one on the left has a more rounded mouth so guess it is threadfin? You guys are just too scientific for me. Shoot I will not eat tilapia the ones I see in the store look and smell too much like gizzard shad to me.
  2. Oh the live well I can .... choosing words...... make it work, just not a straight forward application, likely not worth fixing on a 31 year old boat anyhow.I considered hydraulic steering but not worth the investment. Have not seen the rules, can you weigh iced fish??? EASY EASY just kidding... the livewell will work just have to manually place and remove plugs and keep an eye on front as no overflow. I am sick of this cold.
  3. I have a 3 yr old Terrova, ,it has internal gps, which is not as good as the newer Terrova and Ultrex with external puck for spot lock. As Archdale said all of them will occasionally lose contact or get blown off course, and will make a powerful push to correct itself, been to my knees a few times in a 20ft. Champion. The issue I see on either for a Kayak is deployment and weight, the Ulterra would solve the deployment, but takes at least 24 volts so....too much weight. I have seen some guys on Taney in the Rockaway beach area with transom mt units somehow attached near the seat sideways so they can deploy and operate sitting, you might want to post over there as I know at least one of them is a OA member.
  4. I am not good at this, but practicing. I think I do see gar on the fringe, which would be supported by your viewing, near the surface, but the deeper fish appear to be shorter.... Walleye, White bass, catfish, carp, buffalo, suckers? I do not know. Just my guess.
  5. OMG just as well post GPS coordinates...... just as well post google earth spots ...Just looked think I can see your dog...I hate fly rods in the bass boat...but sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
  6. I tie a bit long and carry scissors, looks better than when I bite them off.
  7. I can not believe you are sharing the no-slip loop knot right here in open forum..... next thing you know he will find out a couple strands of flash help on sunny days, or a strand of purple between the gray and white works on cloudy days/dusk/dawn.....good thing it is hidden over here in this topic.....LOL ready to catch EM!

    What's Cooking?

Pretty sure I have never cooked a steak indoors. But similar to you all I am currently using the "reverse" sear on steaks, place them off heat basically smoking them, 250-300 until they look right, then place over the hot flame to finish, just a bit on each side. But on tritip I do the opposite, it is placed fat side down on hot flame 10 min or so, then off heat for about 30. I am wanting to try the sous vide, wife is reluctant. I think she is afraid it will bring what is now slow smoked into her kingdom the kitchen, and I am very messy, usually she gets frustrated with my cleanup and pushes me aside....My youngest son field dressing deer would say "dad could you show me just one more time?" until I wised up, do not know where children learn those things.
  9. I resemble that remark.......
  10. Will work on coming, Wrench has my boat right now replacing steering cables, sure he will be done well before then. If it ever warms up so he can bow them in.... sick of winter.
  11. Well I understand, my grammar and writing skills are lacking. My freshman English teacher at Mizzou told me "you write just like you talk, and that ain't worth a....darn," only she did not say darn... I was looking for a possible water temp for that other person, no luck.
  12. Good Job Thanks works on my end now.

    What's Cooking?

Well Billethead, after your prime rib post you have peaked Momma Bears interest in sous vide, much more successful than the deer tartar. What brand/model do you recommend?

    What's Cooking?

My wife taught Educable Mentally Handicapped for many years, she assures me that I would have been part of the program, BD, ADD or something. She explains to me that many of us are visual/hands on learners.....lets not get into phonics..... just sayin
  15. Shoot I seen you on the TV and Uboobe showing people the HD Craw.... you are a blabber mouth. Probably let out the powerbait and night crawler secrets next.
  16. After investing in several rigs for my boys years ago, (many in your lake) may I suggest: http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/zebco-star-wars-bb8-floating-spincast-combo
  17. Hey Dude, just do not post on the Smallmouth Forum, just lurk. I rarely post here account of what you are encountering. Have very few issues in other topics. There are apparently lots of "experts" in the "clique" who do not care to share their knowledge and oppose any who "figures" it out sharing. As a matter of fact I will likely be chastised for posting this. I do not have spacebook or watch tv either...
