  1. Most of the boys on Truman drag them around half torn off.......
  2. That's what the Misssouri highway/water patrol thought
  3. I thought it was Geaux Tigers for the natives???? And they did!
  4. well my two boys (I don't know and I didn't do it) have wore out a canoe and jonboat, lost count of broken and lost rods and still at it, still tickles me to death to fish with them. My 20 bass boat is a 87 model....
  5. spot lock in current is very nice, however if you have wind opposite of current it can become very confused do not think i will ever be with out spot lock of some sort. You can lock and fish several drifts in a shoot or eddie, great approach for me.
  6. Which is not as simple as it may seem for quite a while now. "The boat operator contended that although the motor was marked 40 hp, when the jet unit was added, horsepower was cut to about 25 hp, and therefore legal. District Ranger Bird conceded that this was a problem. The forest plan states that the horsepower is measured at the propeller shaft and that some manufacturers do have certified verification that altering to a jet unit does decrease output to around 25 hp. He recommended that all outboard motor users with altered engines carry manufacturer verification of horsepower decrease after alteration." http://www.areawidenews.com/story/1412420.html Tohatsu is doing well selling the 40/25, OMC stepped away from their 40/28 as above the restriction, Think Merc only has rated 25/20 and 60/40..... It is confusing to me for sure
  7. All of that while being a slave to the Bluff House and Lot.... No telling how much improvement we will see in 2017. It was my pleasure to be on a few of those trips, hope many more to come..i do not keep tally but fished yesterday evening, hoping for 3 more trips this year...i do have a clicker...some where... lost track of it.
  8. The low end especially after a snow melt run off can be good,
  9. Man I would say,
  10. Merry Christmas to all! Hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy friends and family, while celebrating the birth of our savior. g
  11. I have a 9.9 for buffalo I really like the tohatsu as it's 2 stroke with 40 power head it's a lot stronger than my merc 25/20
  12. Spent 3 1/2 hrs on i44 between Stanton and st. Clair last night
  13. upper current and 11pt have a 25 hp restrictions
  14. My next will be a 20 48 alweld with 40/25 tohatsu jet from current river marine
  15. Have been shooting muzzloaders since the early 80s. Have a set of Thompson Center Hawkins, .54, 50 and 45. Have killed many deer and a Longhunter Society Elk scored well over 300 in the 90's. I actually think that I am more deadly with my longbow, but there is a feel I get carrying the smoke pole through the timber. Shoot only black powder, but my boys each have 50 cal inlines they shoot pellets with sabots, makes them simple but very functional guns, one is a traditions one a cva. Love the darn things. Working on a lighter load for my 54, it's best load is a 425 plains bullet with 110 gr of ff, kicks like a mule, makes my 338 winmag seem like a kids gun. Maybe 70 gr fff? Sure like to fiddle with them, and find the sweet spot. g
  16. Likely your feet are too sunburnt to get on boots anyway
  17. As it appears no one else can make Thursday afternoon, I am not too festive by myself. Would have to leave Friday morning, so guess I will punt also, hate to, know that fun will be had by those who are there. g
  18. The Rufus Chronicle has been received and read. Enjoyed greatly, a easy read, Thanks for the suggestion Ness. I think we all know how it ends, but I enjoyed their adventures. It sure brought back memories of bird dogs past, and my short comings as a human being. I am sure it would stir Terrierman's memories....good and sad. Already loaned to a friend who is a bird dog guy. g
  19. Yahoo! Great, prayers answered.
  20. My plan is? to be down Thursday afternoon, unfortunately unless things change I will have to head back Friday afternoon. If no one else is going to be there Thursday or Friday morning I will likely skip. If anyone is going to be there I will be glad to fish with them, bring some fish to fry Thursday evening. While I fish the lakes and White River more than Taney, after 50 plus years likely will not get you lost..... I can fly fish as well if flow is low.... Wish I could be there the entire weekend, as these OAF deals are always great fun. g
  21. me either, a much less expensive alternative to power poles
  22. Have you even tried the experimental manual ones we got yet.
  23. Having only seen zigjigman on the river and spoke on the phone it was a pleasure to get to get to know him better. I am looking forward to fishing with him at some point, he is a wealth of knowledge and experience. Rick you are slipping....they should retire you. You told me yesterday how you enjoyed meeting Mr. Williams and big_jake, and I agreed fully. Great people all around..
