That probably wouldn’t hurt. I’d use a fiberglass reinforced body filler and keep it confined to that hole.

I’ve repaired some holes but it’s been with a special product from 3M that requires an expensive applicator gun. Ive been part of the process of adding the Kevlar strips. The glue included with them works well. That’s why I would use it without repairing the hole. If the Kevlar strips are wide enough to cover the hole then you will be good. You’ll basically be fixing the hole with the Kevlar. The issue you have with any product is adhesion and flexibility. Something like fiberglass has none of that. And once it comes loose, and it will eventually, the Kevlar strip will come loose too. It’s really no different than repairing a car bumper. You can’t treat them the same way you treat metal or fiberglass. It just doesn’t work. And I have about 35 years of experience in that.

The Kevlar skins will bond to it better by themselves rather than having something sandwiched in between. Fiberglass will not stick.

I know you are just joking, but this is the problem with most religions. They make up rules to fit their own agendas. I'm not saying that having faith is a bad thing. Since I like to beach fish, I have had a lot of reels soaked with salt water. I just rinsed them off after each use and never had a problem with any of them. In the beginning I would pull the spools off my fly reels and clean the line too, but since I have stopped doing that I haven't had any problems.

They will probably eat an egg but that dry fly needs to be a foam spider. Bluegill are easy. But still a tremendous amount of fun, especially on a 3wt.

All of this. And this too. You can learn a lot from targeting bluegill and it's a hell of a lot of fun. Smallmouth are a great time on a flyrod. Don't get discouraged. The best times are just starting to begin.

The best way to fix any of these is plastic welding. It’s not as hard as what you would think. I hear of people using buckets but you can order plastic welding rods that are easier to deal with. The biggest issue you have with other methods is adhesion. These plastics are full of mold release agents. Things don’t stick well to that without some serious prep. Then there are some plastic repair products that may work better than just glassing it over, depending on the kayak you are working with. It’s a lot less messy too.

Yep. It went from 200cfs to 4200cfs pretty quick. Should be able to catch some whites just north of Springfield right now. 😄

How was it? Me and a buddy hiked into an old favorite spot around 4pm. We caught somewhere between 40 to 50 and were back in Springfield before dark. They were biting when we left but we were good. Put a half dozen in the freezer.

I did a drive by yesterday. Didn't see anyone. Water looks good. Might be around late afternoon.

A group of us arrived at Lake Cuchillo in Mexico a couple of days after he and his group had left. There was only one place to stay on the lake and they assured us that he would never be welcomed back. He treated them like garbage. It was a great week for us.

I’ll probably be wandering around the same area. Depending on the rain on Thursday it might be fine. I’ve always done better with a small jerk bait when it’s high and muddy up there. If it’s really bad you can go checkout Turnback Creek on the other side of the lake. It’s harder to access but doesn’t always get as muddy as the Lil Sac. There’s also some good places south of Springfield.
