I've caught whites in there but not a bunch. Which is weird because that area has always been good for white bass. I've caught more walleye there than whites. When the spinnerbait bite is good it's worth a shot. As long as it has some water over it.

Monkey Island! I think they are all called monkey island. Great area to fish and I have watched a lot a skiers go through there. I haven’t seen anybody hit anything but it always makes me nervous.

Yeah very few of those big burger/craft burger places are good. I wont even try the ones here in town. If in Springfield you have to try Reds. A new take on the original burger joint. Lots of history there along with some good burgers and fries.

A good scrubbing with a toothbrush and some dish detergent. Then a little hand polish with some wax. They will be good as new (almost). Magic erasers will do a good job of erasing some of the paint. Those things are a lot harsher on painted surfaces than what people think. If you don't believe me take one to a spot on the hood of your car.

I've been using a Lew's Classic Pro Speed Spool and it works just fine for light stuff. And it's $60. Also have a cheap Abu Garcia that's around the same price that works well. The light stuff is more about the rod than it is the real.

Watched the solo one and he makes some good choices. I like that guy and will have to watch more. A bit stuck in a time warp though. There are some good solos still being made but that music isn't as popular anymore. -

One of the first white runs I ever fished was in a little stream in the mountains of Oklahoma. The water was crystal clear and you were up a little bit so you could see perfectly. In one hole you could see the whites the whole time. We would just cast and cast and cast with nothing. And then they would just go nuts and everyone would catch fish for awhile and then it was over and they would go back to just sitting there again. Never will forget that. -
Mine aren’t exactly cheap but I could never stand having them tethered.

I always loved to see their face when I would pull up next to them. They always did a double take. Then I would mash the throttle and just run off and leave them.

A good drag rope is a necessity. I use one in the front and back. I don’t have a crate but do have a couple holders in the back so the rods stick up in the air. It works but can be dangerous if you have some overhanging trees that want to grab them. Haven’t broke one yet but I’ve had to go back and retrieve them a couple of times. I also get excited sometimes like Tommy Boy and hit one with a back cast. Actually floating with me is probably exactly like floating with Tommy Boy.

And pointless! Who knows what they were doing but there is some real money to be made on YouTube. But like everything else it takes a lot of work and a little good luck to hit the sweet spot.
