  1. Some of us just got tired of the weekend warrior crowd and moved on to better things. It appears that it’s your panties that are in a twist.
  2. That sounds horribly boring. I’ll be fishing.
  3. Sounds like the contestants need to wear knickers too. I think I'll pass. Fishing skills are proven on the water. Anything other than that is just a circus routine. I have never fished with Gavin but I have fished with Wrench. When you guys get to the actual fishing portion I have a hundred on Wrench.
  4. Cool story! Those are some crazy looking fish.
  5. My mom’s stepdad was closest to being my real grandad. He took me everywhere. He had also been an Army Ranger in Korea so you did as you were told. All us kids called him Sarge. Like I said he took me everywhere. Sometimes that was camping trips to Texoma, but other times you would find yourself wading through moss in an old muddy farm pond hunting frogs. He also shot them with a 22. I wasn’t allowed to shoot any because I had other jobs. Watch for snakes and beavers. I don’t know if that was really a job but I was doing it! I was also the frog retriever. And I held the spotlight. PERFECTLY STILL, hopefully. At 10-14 years old it was a terrifying experience in the dark. I should write a book about all the BS that old guy made me do.
  6. I would like to be #1 in the reel seat giveaway. 😬
  7. I left south Oklahoma in 1985 and haven't seen any like the ones down there since. Not sure if that was a decline or not but were there ever any big bullfrogs around here?
  8. If you come to my neighborhood I can guarantee you some very nice targets and I'll let you use my retrieving monster...I mean dog. If you are trying to save the meat or pelts then she probably isn't for you, but she sure hates those cats.
  9. Speaking out is how EVERYTHING gets changed. It doesn't change by bashing the people that think things could be better if people did try new things. Just assuming that nothing will change and just letting it go is actually the most ignorant thing to do. Unfortunately, the only way you can invoke change in the good ol' USA, is if there is a lot of money to be made. I'm also a "has been". And I'm good with that, because when you did well in a tournament back in the day it really meant something. And you are also incorrect that nothing will change. Everything changes. It will either get better or it will get worse. It's already worse than what it was but all you guys are expecting to change for the better by doing nothing. Good luck with that.
  10. It's pretty easy. Put anything in front of a bullfrog and make it look alive. They will eat it. Plastic worms work really good but so does a spinnerbait. Landing one is where the fun begins.
  11. Cool stuff Penhead!! Why CA glue?
  12. When I was a sophomore in high school I had a shop class that had four sections. Drafting, welding, lathe, and metal casting. We did drafting first, then spent the next quarter working on wood and metal lathes. When we got into welding I got in trouble and wasn’t allowed to complete that section. So while everyone else was perfecting their welds I was confined to the lathe area. Worked out great for me. I was making whatever I wanted and the guys in the welding section spent a month welding up round bail feeders. They were forced labor while I made Christmas gifts. Best trouble I ever got in to.
  13. I would love to have a wood lathe but I haven’t jumped yet.
  14. Do you think our government gives two dumps about whether there is a contract or not?
  15. The big rock island is my second favorite place in the world to throw a top water early in the morning. My very favorite is within sight of the yellow circle. Had some unbelievable top water mornings on that lake.
  16. We've been together for longer than marriage too. I was 17 and she was 15. Lots of craziness but she’s been worth the trouble. If you can’t trust the one you are with then you are with the wrong one. But I understand, I see people like that all the time. I got very lucky.
  17. The spot I'm thinking of is covered by your red circle.
  18. Nope. Spot I was thinking is very close to Cedar Ridge campground ramp.
  19. When you do it correctly the first time you don't have to worry about it a second time. Almost 30 years so I think we are good.
  20. My wife and I only have one account. WE pay for everything together. Life is easier that way.
  21. She came to you needing a TV? What are you, The Godfather? If my wife came to me needing a TV, the only thing she would need is for me to get up and get it out of her car.
  22. I went through a time where I fished a buzz frog a lot. Like most of the time for a couple of years. Never used anything more than 10lb test, but I wasn't fishing around any brush or stuff to get hung up in. I think where I was fishing, braid would have had a negative impact on the amount of bites I had.
  23. The fish are getting nervous!
