  1. That name sounds familiar but the Steadmans were my connection to the lake. Friends with my dad and some of his friends from before they came to Missouri. I stayed at their house a lot or they would let me have a cabin in they weren’t full. Charlene would always save me back some biscuits & gravy on tournament mornings. She would even bring them out to the boat. Great people.
  2. LOL. That’s okay you were already past all the good water. That last part gets hit pretty good by the locals.
  3. Glad you had a decent time. What section did you float?
  4. I used to fish all of those when Gene & Charlene owned the marina.
  5. Don't worry I will. You keep right in line with whatever Trump and FOX tell you. That's as intelligent as you will ever be.
  6. Of course the douchenut has been making the talk show rounds. I listened to enough of one to know he was full of bs. He said they feared for their life. That's a lie. If you truly feared for your life you would stay in the house with your guns and call for help. Instead he took the opportunity to be an idiot. I don't care if people are tired of it or not. I'm tired of people continuously sucking off the party they have devoted their lives to. You know what I do about it? Nothing.
  7. Well I rode a Champion through hell and back and never broke anything above the water line. Other than batteries and a trolling motor switch or two nothing inside the boat was ever hurt.
  8. When did that happen? I don't fish it like I used to but in the 90's it was amazing. Still didn't get the attention the other lakes got but those in the know had a good time.
  9. I was fed up with it before it even really started. Nothing good ever seems to come from a protest these days. As a photographer I can guarantee you that if I was taking pictures of a protest they would be menacing. I actually almost went to a protest in KC for that reason. I did not care what they were protesting about. I have chosen no side. But as a photographer I felt the desire to take pictures of a protest. But taking pictures of people just holding signs or yelling into a bull horn are boring. A masked protester clashing with others would be much more. In the end I really didn't care to take the time to do it. Side note: I have to quit this thought of going anywhere I want to take a picture. One of these days I'm going to put myself in a really bad situation. Like last Wednesday when I took this. Not the best spot in the world to need gas at dark.
  10. it’s hard to create good videos and focus on fishing at the same time. You really have to plan and take a lot of time creating the video.
  11. Protesters can carry as long as they are on your side. The only thing I saw was a shotgun microphone. Those pussies should stay in their mansion.
  12. I have no desire to hunt or fish with my bosses.
  13. Yeah everyone has been doing a lot of that. Bunch of heavily armed folks were protecting the police Chief in Eminence a few days ago.
  14. He said important stuff.

    What's Cooking?

Interesting. I was just going to use a mason jar for some kraut.
  16. You can also have a heck of a lot of fun with a floating worm.
  17. And don't confuse any of that with any political leaning one way or the other. I grew up and quit playing that game that is designed to divide. I don't do protests. I don't watch any news besides maybe the local news but I rarely pay attention. All the major news outlets are bought and paid for. And I will never quit watching football. Ignore the politics and just enjoy the game. Wish the networks could do the same thing.
  18. I think protesting has became the new cool thing to do. People are doing it from all sides and all angles and really have no idea why they are there except that it gives them something to do and to be enraged about it. That's the other cool thing to do. You have to be enraged!! Just like when nobody gives two-shits about the flag and are regularly sitting on their phones or looking around during the Anthem or at the concession, but let one guy kneel during it and it all of a sudden becomes the most sacred thing on earth. It's like all the white trash punks saying the Confederate Flag is their heritage. Uh...no....Dukes of Hazard was your heritage there Joe Dirt.
  19. Back in January we left Springfield one morning to go see family in KC. Stopped at the Casey's close to the house to get the kid a donut and fill up. Right as I get out to pump gas a car comes flying in the parking lot and then I see some guy running towards the car. I actually heard him screaming before I saw him. He tries to get the door to the car open screaming that he's going to kill her if he can just get her out of the car. he's kicking the door and trying his best to break the window out. I was on the phone to 911 immediately because if he does get the door open then I'm going to have to do something and that probably isn't going to end well. I tell the dispatcher everything that is going on. And they asked me if I thought they should send an officer to the store. I said nope, just letting you know how my days going and hung up. Idiots. 20 minutes later a cop calls me on my cell phone and says he's at the store and nobody is there. No shitt sherlock. And he wanted me to come back to the store. Uh...nope. If this lady in the car hadn't drove off and he would have got the door open she would have been dead before anyone besides me tried to help her.
  20. Throwing a buzzbait long distances decreases your chance of a good hookup with the fish. But the quickest way to get distance is quit throwing small buzzbaits. They cast further and just work better.
  21. Nice score. I still have a bunch of CDs and still acquire new ones. But all the music now is mostly unknowns. The best music you will ever hear is out there by someone you have never heard of. You just have to find it. Love some Nora Jones.
  22. I know. It's crazy the time & money that was spent to look like an idiot.
  23. I used to sell paint to Jonas Shwartz. He built buggies and bought all his paint supplies from us. Great guy, great family.
  24. It’s been a while but used to have pretty good luck. Stockton is better.
