  1. Pretty sad when you are holding up an 8lb spot and it looks like it MIGHT just measure compared to your buddies 11lb behemoth. Why do I not live in California?
  2. Sorry. Tackle Warehouse is already out of all colors of the "iWart®" as it is called (Iovino Wart). Apparently some big wig from Bella Vista, AR, who has a sparkly Ranger and is a connoisseur of War Eagle spinnerbaits made a phone call just minutes before me and bought every single last one. That's right, this clown bought every single last pre-order iWart®. No idea who this guy is but sounds like a real Razorback fan if you ask me.
  3. Dwain IMO is the best painter in the business. Had some work done by him in the past. Not only super talented but makes a lot of "Ozark" colors that are fish slayers.
  4. I mentioned jigs in my post. I have one tied on at ALL TIMES. There isn't a more versatile lure made.
  5. To answer the OP's question it depends on what type of fisherman you are....power or finesse? If you are a power fisherman or a cranker then some 1/2oz War Eagle spinnerbaits in shad colors, wiggle warts in crawdad colors (new models are just fine) and some deeper divers of your choosing (Strike King 5 and 6XD's, Bomber Fat Free Shads, Norman DD16 and 22's). All of those work on TR. The finesse stuff I would recommend what Dave said with the Ned Rig stuff, but include 3/8oz,1/2oz and 3/4oz jigs with a craw trailer of your favorite color (green pumpkin can't go wrong). I also would include 4" and 5" shad colored grubs (smoke, white, etc) rigged on a 1/4oz jig head/darter head as it will catch anything and everything that has fins in TR. It is just getting to be jerkbait season going forward so get yourself a couple of SPRO McSticks in shad patterns (blue bandit, chrome shad, etc), or regular Smithwick rogues if you are on a budget. Luck E Strike also makes a fair jerker for $8 (which is cheap for a jerk bait actually). A handful of white or chrome spoons is another Table Rock staple and War Eagle makes a good one that come 2 per pack for not a ton of coin. Cotton Cordell also makes a fair one for the more frugal angler as well. Lastly a topwater assortment is necessary (maybe not now in the winter) and you should get a chugger (pop-r, chug bug, etc), a walker (zara spook, super spook jr, spit'n image) and a waker (cotton cordell redfin, jackall mikey, whopper plopper, etc). Those should be enough to get you started in the right direction and you can fill in the blanks as you get more familiar with the lake. Fish can be caught on a variety of baits so whatever suits your fancy. As far as colors I like to stick to natural colors to imitate forage (crawdads and shad). I fish the clearer section of the lake near the dam so the more natural the better typically. Upper in the river arms brighter colors may do a little better. Hope this helps and good luck on the water and with your bank account as well.
  6. If he can't afford electronics there is no way he can afford Pre Rap Warts.
  7. Where will one be able to get a 2017 Hopper 520C Comanche?
  8. Awesome Champ. I need a day like this. Has been a while since I've "gotten into them".
  9. Well put. So you saved $300 on a TV that you waited for 24 hours, away from family in cold/elements in a line long with other degenerates to get? Is that worth the time spent with family, having laughs, good food, a few seasonal beers and passing out on the couch watching football? Not to me.
  10. I saw that the other day when the link was sent to my phone to register for the upcoming 2016 events. They gained Huk as a sponsor and I am assuming Bass Pro is poney'ing up more dough than in years past. Looks like Quantum is also out and Shimano is in (free rod will now be a Shimano). Oakley is still a sponsor but I guess taking a backseat. I don't see Toyota as a sponsor this year and usually them and BPS are hand in hand. Either way it's all good.
  11. I'm a Bucoo fan. They are uber light and about as sensitive as you are gonna get for $100 rod. At $80 that he is asking it's a great rod. They are a bit softer than their ratings so a MH is borderline a M. I have the 6'10" H that I use for 1/2oz+ jigs and I really love it paired with my Curado E7. Some guys can't get past the EVA foam handle compared to cork but that doesn't bother me. Like he said this is a great worm or eakin's finesse jig rod throwing 1/4oz up to almost 3/4oz jigs. Good luck with the sale.
  12. No, thank you for sharing. Was a good listen.
  13. Here's the link so you guys don't have to dig around on google. The interview with Watson starts at the 9:56 mark in the podcast FYI. http://bassedge.com/podcast/the-edge-episode-219-james-watson/
  14. I understand. You are better at dealing with ground hogs than you are beavers. Still some tickets left for my Friday night act guys.
  15. Check out Beaver sometime, some real classy ones around there. Heyyyooooooo, I'll be here all week.. This is a family site James. Get it together.
  16. Well said and I agree. Nothing is going to happen. Just a lot of hot air in the end. Table Rock is the "golden child" of the White River chain and their money cow. They would NEVER tamper with it as there is too much money on the line. Money always rules the roost. Just ask Tim Wolfe and the Missouri Football Program.
  17. I just don't understand why they would do it (aside from the whizzing contest). You already have a few lakes that have strippers in the area within easy driving distance. Why add them to a lake that is more than fine without them and adds no additional appeal or extra draw for anglers? Anglers who would already be going to Beaver or Bull anyways if they want to go after the beasts? If it ain't broke don't fix it.
  18. So it begins....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzntZLHcYy0
  19. Chump change compared to Gates and Buffet @ around 50 billion. LOL.
  20. A Zara Spook is definitely and oldie but a goodie. It's design is over 100 years old and it still gets'her done. Nice report Bill. Good to see you back from the woods (albeit temporarily). I though I started to hear banjos playing and was getting worried about you.
  21. Like Ness posted in that pic since 12pm today the Cabela's shares went up 4 bucks. Pretty good jump on a speculative purchase by old Johnny. You can either buy now and if the deal happens it will shoot up again but if the deal does't happen then it will most likely go back down. Who wants to gamble. If you hit you could buy up all the remaining stock of Whopper Ploppers OR if it tanks you will have to sell all your Pre Rap Wiggle Warts so you don't lose your house. Your call!
  22. Like BPS and Johnny Morris buying Ranger? Who saw that coming?
  23. Easy old timer. I don't think Ham meant anything personal or wished father time would take the elder statesmen of fisherman earlier so there would be less fish harverster's on public waterways. I think he is just saying that there will be a "changing of the guard' so to speak that the younger generation is maybe a little more responsible with their selective harvest than some of the practices that we displayed back in the early 20th century and through into maybe the 1970's. My family has PLENTY of pics of stringers that could not hold another fish with proud people in those pics of their bounty for the day/week/trip. There is nothing wrong with that. But nowadays we just have to be a little smarter with a limited resource with MORE people after that resource with each growing year.
  24. Not much to talk about if you eat them all the time. lol. Let's not go there again. Winter hasn't even started yet and we don't need to start fighting already. Save those for the snow days.
  25. I may not always spend a fortune but I know I've never spent less than $50 on order. That's how they get you. The dang $50 free shipping total.
