  1. Thanks for tips everyone...I am packing now...and I have 2 stupid questions...do you need chairs or seats for the blinds? And should I worry about a throwable floation device? I don't have one...had a boat for dang near 20 years...thanks
  2. Thursday is the day...we drew a spot at schell osage...taking the kids out of school Thursday and Friday...deer on Saturday...I've been growing beard out for two weeks... Plan to spend night in parking lot wednesday...if ducks good...stay over and hunt Friday...got a boatload of decoys...hoping to make a memory for the boys...any tips?
  3. Ya...cool boat. Congrats
  4. I'm getting the ads again inside the topics...isn't a big deal. I just scroll over them...
  5. I'm not getting the ads this evening...my phone is android...and for last couple weeks prior to tonight...it's been like there's an ad to scroll thru in every topic. It didn't really bother me...just stuff I had searched for before like baseball gloves for my kids and stuff...it was contained within the topic and I just scrolled over/thru them
  6. I haven't been in a couple years but try the back of Rambo creek...kind of goes back in there and 90 degree turns Also the island by Rocky branch is good
  7. Can also try the floating crappie docks in elk river area...pretty fun if weather is bad
  8. I've always liked those graphs but not sure if no transducer...it has the power cord right?
  9. Does the lcx 17 have the transducer? If so...I want it
  10. They dropped the water level in lake...and it's pretty messed up right now. I think overall bass fishing has been tough all year...to me it is has gotten tougher and tougher every year for past 4 or 5 years. I think there is something wrong with the bass fishing in the lake...
  11. Look up top at the maps that have been marked by Bill babler. They will point you toward some banks to try in the area of lake you are going. I'm not very good fisherman so I keep it simple and just drag something around in whatever depth I think fish might be. 15 to 40 foot usually. I like to fish c rig fish dr or speed craw...or try tube on a jig head or a Ned rig. I also learned to drop shot recently if too much cover to drag your baits. That worked great earlier this summer. Try pitching a jig or tx rig sweet beaver around the rock ledges along the bank. Use anything small that's green pumpkin, pbj or watermelon red...and you should catch fish. you'll stumble into some fish if you fish locations marked on the maps above...and hopefully...you'll enjoy some beautiful days in the ozarks...have fun
  12. I tried last year but didn't get in...this year i did. Anybody have any tips for someone like me that is as green as a mallards head? It'll be me and my two boys...both under 16. we're mostly pass shooters, but we've got a couple dozen decoys...we've got a small boat to get to the blind. I'll use a kayak paddle to get there so want to stay pretty close to the truck. We've got waders. Any particular spot we should favor? Any other things I should be thinking about?
  13. Cool picture
  14. I would spend money on viewfinder to upgrade the boat You are planning to use if going to lake of woods or similar...if going someplace remote that only boat available is the little tiller...you shouldn't need much for sophistication
  15. I think you're going overboard...part of fun of going up there is minimalistic/getting away from it all. I remember 1st time I went...I bought map...and got lost bigger than Dallas. Really just went in giant circle...everything kind of looks the same on lake of the woods...but that is story I always tell. When we were there...We mostly just fishing spawning bays for walleye...and the isolated rock reefs for smallmouth. I would keep it simple
  16. pm sent
  17. We had fun...the oldest got his limit...and the youngest got to shoot his new gun...he got a handful...said he was averaging one about every 12 shots...I said that was about my average too. Older boy had em coming in pretty good on his mojo...and was shooting at much better average.
  18. Thanks for the well wishes...i shot it tonight...good little gun I think. Capps creek better than Shawnee trail we thought...quite a few people out this afternoon but wasn't bad. Seemed like birds quit flying about 630. Hunting a silage field in am...should be much better...last year we cow killed em on this field...so the boys expectations are high. I just hope we run out of shells
  19. Good times you guys...I hope you made that call bh. The boys and I went to Shawnee trail last night...not very many birds flying...trying Capps creek tonight...then hitting private farm tomorrow near the wife's folks in am. I bought the youngest a new gun...hopefully we get to hear it go boom
  20. If you end up deciding to sell the 25...I might be interested...shoot me a msg and we'll try to figure something out on it...thanks

    Fishing???

We just got back...fishing above cyclone was fantastic...not so much below...was good but not quite the same. Lots of bass and goggle eye on plastics...and some on a buzzbait
  22. Seems silly to me to tout tin boat bass fishing...and then get a boat like that...but I guess I had the wrong idea of what the club is about...Oh well...no worries
  23. Nice fish...what part of lake?
  24. Still stinks...tons of pleasure boats today..looks like Spanish armada is out there today...can't get on our g4Abel spot and bluff is tore up
