  1. Now that I think about it, they'd be going north. A long ways north.
  2. Good stuff, you are getting it done with that squarebill!
  3. I can't catch a bass on those things. Crappie and some really nice gills, but no bass. Hey maybe he really did see penguins, climate change driving them south.
  4. One of those grey, drizzly days where the temp didn't change much. 55 when I launched and 57 when I left at 1230. Found some deep fish, not bunches but at the end of the day, I had 19 bass and a big crappie. Biggest bass was a 16 inch LM. Had some good near keeper sized spots, but none hit that 15" mark. Drop shot with a Thin Senko caught the most, with a few on the 3.3 Keitech. best depth zone was 25-30 feet. I banged the bank for a bit with jig and crank, but caught only one 13" spot on the bank. Not many people out there today, saw 4 or 6 bass boats and zero rec boats. WT 63
  5. Good to hear the PT went well, and good to hear you are taking it seriously.
  6. As far as I can tell from reading the announcement, this change applies to the BPT. The MLF Cup Events TV show will still be the every scoreable fish counts format.
  7. Dang, nice one! Congrats Marty!
  8. Some great fish!
  9. It was windy for sure, especially Sunday.
  10. That's when a DVR comes in handy. I only watch it when they are fishing something locally, so looking forward to seeing them fish Stockton. I have always thought it would be neat to see a team even that pitted BPT against BASS.
  11. Come on down! The initiation process isn't too bad, assuming you can swim.
  12. Don't know where it gets before it is too low to launch. I've launched at Big M at 907 and it was fine. Something to keep an eye on if we have a dry winter.
  13. I hate to add another one to the mix, these rod discussions always have all kinds of different recommendations, but I really like ALX rods. You can call them, tell them what you're looking to do with it and they'll give you some choices.
  14. That's hilarious. But maybe he is on to something with the 'deer nest'. Build one by your blind and see if there is a deer sleeping there the next morning, should make for an easy shot. 😜
  15. Bassin I sent you a PM. Yes I would avoid Houseman too.
  16. Divine intervention guides 11th annual Toyota Bonus Bucks winners - Bassmaster - This is all I could come up with.
  17. Yeah let's go sometime, I have family in town this week, but after that I'm pretty free.
  18. Never saw them live, but I have heard from those that did, that they were really, really LOUD. I liked their music before they went disco.
  19. I like fishing around point 5, but it is a long haul from where I launch.
  20. Fished from dawn until 1130. I couldn't find them, and the ones I found were reluctant biters. The drop shot that was working a couple of weeks ago, was not working today. After not catching hardly any, I started pulling a Keitech around, throwing it behind the boat and trolling it using the trolling motor. Picked up a few smallmouth and a small striper trolling over 40-50 FOW. Caught a couple of smallies on top too. Ended up with 8 smallmouth and one striper. No size to the smallmouth, biggest was 14". Not much striper activity, there's a few chasing shad. I didn't see any striper guides which is an indication the striper fishing is better somewhere else on the lake. WT 70.
  21. Neat to see those leaves turn. I was out on Beaver today, there aren't many maples, but the ones that are there are pretty colorful this year.
  22. Cool, like those bowfin!
  23. Another species I had not heard of until reading your post - the flat bullhead. Neat that you caught one!
  24. I don't know of anyone locally, there's that boat repair place down the road from the Dollar Store in the Highlands, they might do trailer repairs. I take mine to JWM trailer in Reeds Spring, they know boat trailers and have always treated me fairly. It is about 80 miles from here. 417 272 19OO.
  25. First off, that is some great fishing! I never have seen a turkey land on water or swim either.
