  1. That's a really good day!
  2. Speaking of blues, came across this article. https://wlos.com/news/local/lightning-strikes-twice-for-trophy-catfishermen
  3. Nice fish! I was out yesterday also on the upper White. Super foggy start to the day, which helped as I didn't go far from Big M and ran into a short duration top water bite. It didn't last long, but it was a bite on just about every cast for maybe a half-hour. I tossed a 1/4 oz Kastmaster at them, I think I boated 8, with one keeper before it ended. After the fog cleared I bounced around fishing chunk rock with the Ned, found one bank that held some in 10-15 FOW, all spots. Ended the day with 19, but only one keeper. I lost 3 fish that were decent sized, obvious keepers, every one of those 3 jumped 3 feet into the air and tossed the bait. Always fun t watch them jump. WT 59-60
  4. Thanks buddy, if you want to PM Ham or I that would be awesome and I promise I won't post any background pics. I know where to get some 1/4 oz marabou jigs with fairly stout hooks. Catching those shad for bait is always a challenge, but maybe some bass minnows - I'll see what Ham wants to do, it's all about him. 😄
  5. Just tell them next time you're in there you'll try not to miss. 😃
  6. Never have shot or eaten prairie chicken or sage grouse. I have had ruffed grouse which was decent. There were also spruce grouse and blue grouse in Washington state. Never hit one of those or ate one either, but had a couple of shots at them.
  7. Used to run into a covey of huns maybe once or twice a year while chukar hunting, dark meat like a dove. Marinate for 24 hours in Teriyaki marinade, wrap it with bacon, grill and it would be edible. Chukar would usually get the same treatment. Quail are always good, young pheasants are good, but the old birds always got the marinade bacon wrap thing.
  8. I'm OK with those over feathered, over loud, goofy birds hating on me.
  9. Thanks for putting this on Brett.
  10. Nice ones! I heard a report from a friend that one of his buddies got into some deep, 50 feet down, on a spoon. Saw the writeup on Cody Huff's win this week on the FLW and he caught them deep on an ice jig.
  11. Man I hate peacocks, they are the loudest bird out there. I wonder if they are any good to eat? Never heard of anyone eating one. Haven't seen any pelicans this fall, seems the only tine I see them on Table Rock is early spring and then they are only around for a few days.
  12. I would guess that they demo'd the buildings before the lake was filled, probably just foundations down there. Maybe a row of cabins, resort type deal?
  13. The lake is fishing tough. There's a few good bags, seems like no matter how tough it is, someone in one of these tourneys will do well. On the co-angler side, Steve Meador is in the lead, he's a friend of friend so that is how I heard about him. He's won a few of these events as a co-angler.
  14. Nice smalls, I am jealous.
  15. Well the loons are back, number of loons I saw was about equal to the number of fish I caught. I fished Tuesday and today in the upper White and totaled about 20 bass over 2 days, 3 keepers. This sunny weather has got them out in the channel again chasing small, scattered shad. If you can get on one when they come up, they'll bite but it's tough to get on them as they just aren't schooled up and are scattered. I caught some on 3.3 and 2.8 Keitechs and a couple on the 1/4 oz Kastmaster. It's an early bite, it gets tough after 10 AM or so. I did fish the Ned some, better bite Tuesday on the Ned, today I think I had two good hookups on it and they both got off and that was about it. On the plus side, the weather is great. Lots of boats out too. There's some type of FLW/BFL tourney going on and quite a few locals out. WT 60-61
  16. Yeah man 5 for 29 and change on BassTrakk for Clunn, that is amazing. My picks stink as usual, one guy at 14th and the rest are 65 and worse, they don't even have limits, like one of two fish apiece. I can sure pick them!
  17. Buddy of mine fished out of Viola on the Kings today, he has lost one of his keyrings that has a bunch of keys on it and he hopes someone finds them. So if you do, shoot me an PM or post here and I will send you his phone #.
  18. I've seen a lot of them on the clear end of Beaver the last couple of years. I would think that if a guy baited an area you could have some good carping. Lots of public bank access on that end of the lake, it would be perfect for fishing for them. I'm not interested in them myself, but the opportunity is there.
  19. I did see a mapping boat a couple of weeks ago on the upper White. But only one.
  20. That is a great smallie for Table Rock. Looks like one of those KGB baits. I looked into that brand of baits, they are hard to buy as when the guy who makes them puts them on the market they sell out in literally 10 minutes or so. I think he gets over a $100 each too.
  21. The judges have decided - congrats to Daryk Campbell SR! Daryk - I will send a PM to Phil that you have won. You'll need to contact Phil with your address so he can send the plaque to you.

  23. So a little over a pound average, which is pretty good for this lake. I wonder if they televise any of it, would be interesting to see how they got them.
  24. How many fish to make 27 lbs.?
  25. If you plan on staying at Riley's please reply to this thread. If you are staying at Erik's please contact Erik and confirm.
