  1. Could've used that bighead in this skit. Warning: it is really stupid.
  2. Point taken on the tube, I'll have to give it a shot.
  3. That's pretty neat getting on the JB bite!
  4. Wow! There's a few there.
  5. Riley's Station is right near Buffalo City, several lodging options to chose from and they rent boats.
  6. Nice one buddy!
  7. I don't know why they fish there, they talk like a lot of the guys will have to make 2 hour runs to get to decent fishing.
  8. Retirement has its benefits. 🙂
  9. Lower end must be just fishing tough, I know a good fishermen who also fished up there during the BBT and he said it was really tough. Must be because of all those shad, those things are a blessing and a curse.
  10. I use a 3/8 oz head for a Menace Grub, I like to drag it with my rod, then reel in the slack and repeat.
  11. Forgot to add, something I saw that I never saw before - Had a 12"spot on, saw about 8 fish chasing him in, thought it was a bunch of spots, but when I got the bass close I could see that they were all big gizzard shad. Only thing I can think is they (the shad) thought that bass was one of their own doing some sort of spawning maneuver.
  12. They are really biting. Top water early, then I switched to 3.3 Keitechs and swing jigs with Menace Grubs, with a handful on a shaky head. Yesterday they didn't like the Keitechs but they were back after them today. I switched from Rainbow Shad to Sexy Shad with a chartreuse jig head, don't know if it was the color change or the fish decided they liked Keitechs again, but they were after them today. Quite a few of the bigger female spots were staging on points leading into coves along with a few keeper size largemouth. There are also fish in the coves. Seems like most fish are within casting distance of the bank. Gravel is holding some. Caught a crappie that almost went 15" and a couple of just short walleye to boot.
  13. So many reports of good fishing, which is good to see, but I don't have much to add. Fish are biting, they are in shallow, mostly small male spots that are setting up housekeeping with surface water temps near 60. Caught most fish in front of buck brush and on gravel. Shallow, 5-10 FOW. Menace grub on a swing jig, shaky head with worm and an early top water bite. Biggest fish was a smallie that might have made 3 lbs, it absolutely blew up on the top water. Keitech bite was not on today, they tore it up last week, today I think I caught one bass on it. This spot has a hook hanging out of it's belly, didn't notice it until I looked at the pic, which is too bad as I could've gotten it out - don't know how I missed it. Caught a lot of these dudes:
  14. Very nice, cool to see you get some money fish!
  15. They don't get much bigger than that.
  16. Love those smallies!
  17. Ketchup in my case. But I do like malted vinegar I'll have to have some next time. I like tartar sauce on a fish sandwich but not big on it otherwise.
  18. Very nice, that's some great fishing!
  19. I remember seeing your reports on those golf course fish, seems it was usually on April 1st. 😃
  20. Some great fish there!
  21. Last time out I caught 3 crappie on 3.3 Keitechs while bass fishing. 2 of them were on a point with wind on it and were in about 5 FOW. Not a spot I would expect to find crappie. Everybody says the Kings is where you want to be in the spring for crappie, so you were in the right place.
  22. Crappie and Walleye from Table Rock White bass and spotted bass from Beaver.
  23. That's a heckuva smallmouth!
  24. 19" smallmouth would make my day, congrats!
  25. Great day, looking forward to hearing how the shad run goes. You ever tried fried shad roe?
