  1. As much as I am outdoors I'm sure there have been some close by that I did not see. One of the ones I saw on Table Rock was on a steep rocky bank. The cat's coloration blended in well with the rocks. I was fishing the bank, pretty close to the cat and it moved and that caught my eye. If it had stayed still I would never have seen it. It just walked away slowly.
  2. That's pretty neat. I have only seen 2 bobcats, both at Table Rock, in my entire life.
  3. Congrats, that is a chunk!
  4. That's a possibility, the bird never moved.
  5. As far as I know they have quit making Surge Shads, so the Red Fin would be the best option left. There have been a lot of wake baits that have come on the market in the last few years, bound to be some other good ones out there. I like the look of these 6th Sense lures. Have not fished one. 6th Sense Fishing - Speed Wake
  6. HAHA did not get a chance to talk to him. No eye patch however. Or peg leg.
  7. Well it was a big bust for me. I caught 5 small bass. Just could not find them. It was 59 degrees right before I got to the ramp, which felt great. A lot of guys out there fishing today. The attendant at the park was riding around in a golf cart when I came in picking up litter. He had a parrot on his shoulder. That is something you don't see every day, somebody with a parrot on their shoulder. WT 86 - cooled down a little.
  8. That's a pretty neat trip!
  9. Dude, you are en fuego!
  10. That is my favorite bite - a buzzbait bite.
  11. They are moving in around here. A black bear caused a stir in an east Fayetteville neighborhood Saturday morning before being safely relocated, officials said. Fayetteville police officers responded to reports of the bear cub on Aug. 2. FPD spent a few hours working with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Fayetteville Fire Department and nearby neighbors to monitor the animal and guide it away from homes, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
  12. It is nice again this morning. 62 at 0600.
  13. Fried chicken lunch buffet - my kind of lunch!
  14. For tungsten their prices are pretty good. I wish their Ned heads had a weed guard. But they have a ball head with a guard that will work as a Ned. Buy Tungsten Weedless Ball Jig Head at the Best Price on Nako
  15. It feels good!
  16. I thought that only happened in Florida. 😃
  17. 10 years ago, I was not paranoid about hooks. Now, I am. Whenever I catch a striper with a top water treble bait, I am VERY careful getting the hooks out of the fish. The thought of a 10 lb. fish attached to a treble hook that is attached to me gives me the willies.
  18. Watched a PBS show last night "Human Footprint" it was about extinction. There's a segment on Chestnuts. They mentioned there are 4 adult chestnuts that somehow have survived the fungus, they showed one of them, kind of an ugly tree, but a survivor. If you are interested in the chestnut story, you might want to catch a rerun or it may be available on the web.
  19. Jerk baits are scary. Last time I got stuck it was a treble on a top water. Dutch was with me that day, had him do the line trick and it came right out. Bled like crazy afterwards, but no pain. And that reminds me, make sure to have a first aid kit that has functional bandages. Those band-aids will dry out over time and are worthless once they dry out.
  20. Dutch gave me the idea for these grippers. Plastic, they don't hurt the fish but lock firmly onto the fish. Little ones are still a pain to get off however and as Bill mentioned those are the dudes that get you. Cheap too at $7.50 so you can have a couple of them rattling around the boat. 21. Looking forward to the cooler weather later this week.
  22. That's some great fishing Bill!
  23. There are some big money boats out on the lake for sure.
  24. Cool down will be nice. You should be fine in that boat unless it is really windy. Watch out for wakes generated by the wake boats.
