  1. I don't believe it has an effect, it just tells you what percentage of people have selected that angler.
  2. Catch a bunch and prove them wrong!
  3. Trout Jigfest on the White river, every winter now for 4 years or maybe 5, I can't remember. Anyways keep an eye on the White river forum this fall if you are interested.
  4. Way to go guys!
  5. I had Evers too. I thought for sure the guy would do well.
  6. If you bring that particular "dish" to the Jigfest, please label is clearly so that I can avoid it.
  7. The Dogwoods are blooming and the fish are biting. Here's a scenery shot of a little cove and the water color around the point 23 area is just as you see, green stained, maybe 3 foot of viz. I caught 25 bass today (6-8 keepers) and a couple of crappie. Caught bass on the Keitechs, mostly spotted bass on the Keitech, but my biggest largemouth came on a 2.8 Keitech. Back in the coves around trees, a c-rigged 8 inch Zoom Lizard was getting fish, mainly largemouth. Got a couple of fat spots on a Redfin that had the Champ188 modifications put on. Missed a couple of others, fun to see some top water action. Lots of people out there, counted 13 rigs in the Big M lot, which is a lot for a Thursday. WT 57-58.
  8. I had KVD in my lineup then decided to drop him. Of course, he's whacking them today.
  9. No, it works with heavy stuff also, within reason.
  10. Some great bags for sure, I didn't think it would fish that good. Looks to be some great fishing weather the rest of the week.

  12. SV spool is lighter, supposedly allows you to cast lighter lures easier without backlashing.

    fun morning

Nice! They love those durn Keitechs.
  14. For sure, very scenic part of the lake to fish and there is lots of water in that area. I have caught some decent smallmouth in that area before, but we sure couldn't find them yesterday. I was fishing in my buddy Jeb's boat, I think about 6 or 7 years ago and he caught a largemouth that if I remember right was in the 6-7 lb. range one winter back in Little Clifty.
  15. Haven't had any problems with mine.
  16. There is a big run of what I believe are American shad in the Columbia river, story is they planed some in one of the SF Bay tributaries and they made their way north and I believe the Columbia is as far north as they get on the Pacific coast. Never fished for them as I was always chasing salmon and steelhead. But when they were running, people would catch them in bunches and they could be kept. Anyway, people were after them for the roe in addition to the hard fighting fish that they are. Always heard that if you want to eat the fish it is best to pressure cook them as the bones are so bad, but the pressure cooking softens them, like canned salmon.
  17. Motored over to Clifty with my buddy Mike today. Wish I had some great fishing to report, but it was not. We boated around 15 bass, all 12-14" spots for the most part, couple of dink smallies and largies. Mike caught a spotted bass that might have gone 2 lbs. and that was our big bass of the day. Seems like everything we tried worked for a few, Keitechs, c-rigged lizard, creature on a wobble head, jig, and one on a Redfin. We hit a couple of locations back in Indian creek that had been producing for us, but not today. Had a brief walleye bite off a steep bank just inside a point, caught 3 solid keepers in about 15 minutes on a Keitech. Mike took them home. Water is stained green in Clifty area, can see bottom in 4 FOW. Saw some beds but no fish on them, but with the warm afternoon, they might start hanging around. WT 56-58.
  18. You can buy trailer hooks with the shrink tube on them, here's an example: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_SP_Trailer_Hooks_4pk/descpage-GTHSP.html
  19. Have to come up with a name for them. Billet-ba-donker Billegator Billenator Billesponker Your turn
  20. I think it is Al Lindner on his show that calls them smallmouths. Crappie is the same, no one says I caught a mess of crappies.
  21. For sure, at least a free T-shirt.
  22. Thanks for the report, there's been many a day on Beaver where I would've been happy catching 6 bass. Probably going out tomorrow, thinking about trying the Clifty arms for a change of scenery.
  23. If you say you caught a hybrid down here, people assume it's a white/striper hybrid. So I will stick to calling them means. I hate the term smallie spot hybrid.
  24. I think that is the reason.
  25. Here's some smallies:
