It's fine if you sign her up even if she never posts anything. But. not going to twist your arm. -
I threw a little pencil popper for about 10 casts. No bites. There is a little activity on top, not much, but some. I'm just not quite ready to commit to it yet.

Gave this some thought as we would like to see the people fishing in this being registered members, but I think what I will do is change the rules so that family members, fishing with an OA member can qualify to win the trophy. This way people that want to bring kids also don't have to worry about adding them as a registered member. Unless I hear howls of protest I'll make that change. I believe it is about 45 minutes from KC to Eagle Rock. -

Young'uns are welcome, look forward to seeing you there! -
OK, time to start another thread on this as we are within 2 weeks. I'll twist Muddy Water's arm to start a who is bringing what thread. Unfortunately Phil won't be able to make it, but he will get us the scales and the trophy. He has also volunteered to send down some salmon, we just need to figure out how and who will cook it. I did see in the previous thread that Dblades and 96 Champ have both volunteered to provide an open seat each, do if anyone is interested in fishing with them, shoot them a PM. Looking forward to it! OK, looks like 4/22 is a go. M&M is going to get the new permits - Thanks Mike! Same rules as always, check the pinned message at the top if you have questions on the rules. Start time 0630 (You can launch where you want on Table Rock), but the weigh in will be at the Eagle Rock COE park at 1430 (2:30 PM). Biggest bass wins the trophy. Bring a $10 donation if you like, (voluntary) proceeds to go to the Christian Action Ministries food bank in the name of the winner. OK, here is the list of probable attendees so far, post a message if you aren't on the list and will attend. And let us know if you are bringing any food items/utensils/grills/charcoal etc. Muddy Water M&M and Patlock dtrs5kprs 96 Champ dwiebenga Champ & Donna Crazy4fishin rps Sore Thumbs MagicWorman and Love2fish Mofloatjunkie and JerryS 96 Champ Olbasser Shark Bait kbillb and SmithvilleSteve Bassmod and Daughter Carl W LakeLover and son James McManus and Becky Burt Sore Thumbs

Well, as usual, my guys stunk. My one ray of hope was Wheeler, and he faded. Next up Ross Barnett, a lake I know zero about, maybe that is a good thing.

I know a good crank bait fisherman that once his CB gets down to depth will pull it forward with the rod, the reel in the slack quickly. Helps you feel that crankbait as it moves along the bottom. I'd want something that will pickup that slack quickly if I was fishing a CB that way (sometimes I do).

That's a nice bass, congrats!

Very nice!

Slab city! Thanks for the report.

You caught them all last time.

Table Rock BFL, Gentlemen start your engines!

That's the best thing to do, just ignore them. Friday I had a couple of guys in a boat come into a cove I was fishing, it's a good sized cove and plenty of room for a few boats - but, they came in, bow up, pushing a huge wake as they went by. It's a cove full of trees, many right below the surface, and they clunked into one, I heard a thump and one of the guys in the boat yells out OHHH!!!. I got a chuckle out of it. Apparently no major damage as they continued to motor into the cove. Another incident, as I was on plane heading into Viney, a boat comes flying in and cuts right across my front, no danger of collision, but it's just outright discourteous. I guess they thought they were going to beat me to the spot, but they went to a different bank than I went to. And just think, it is not yet pleasure boat season. -
Thanks Bill and Dave for the tips, I have been fishing the rig for 4 years now but still learning thanks to your info.

Looking forward to seeing your new Bird.

I was reading some blog, can't remember where I saw it, but the author was claiming that TB is not fishing as well now because they sprayed and killed a lot of vegetation on one end of the lake and there's been a lot of big fish kept and filleted. Of course I can't say myself if that is true, but the weights are sure down compared to the last time there was an Elite event on TB. Or it could be that the fish are in some sort of post spawn/spawn funk, moving around and are difficult to pattern.

I do have Wheeler, but the rest of my lineup ain't looking too good. I picked Carriere as he lives in LA and you would think he could catch a limit at least. I guess not. I have to quit taking flyers on guys like that or picking guys with good history on a particular lake, that strategy is killing me.

BFL and various other tourneys, add in nice weather, going to be a lot of boats out there. -
I haven't even watched one stroke of the Masters this year. I'll probably catch the last round. That's about how much of a golf fan I am, I'll watch the final rounds of the major events, but that's about it. Hard for me to speculate who will be the ceremonial first tee shooters. I think they will have to let Tiger be one of them, but who knows, maybe Tiger will tell them to stuff it. Only other golfer I can think of is Mickelson that might be one of the ceremonial shooters. I can't say that I like Tiger as far as his personality, but I sure had fun watching him when he was at his peak.

I can't speak for how fishing is on that end of the lake, but there are definitely fish in the coves up the White river.
-
Nice fish, I like fishing those gravel points, haven't done much of that lately but maybe it is time to try.

That is an awesome looking course, almost makes me wish I could golf. I wonder if the PGA will have any events there? Johnny is also set to open the Wonders of Wildlife exhibit in Springfield this September.

Thursday I launched out of Eagle Rock and fished upriver. Water is still pretty stained up there, kind of a brownish green color. Started off pretty slow, and it didn't get much better as the morning went on. Wind started howling after a couple of hours so I went into coves thinking some fish would be back there on the sunny banks, but if they were, I could not show them anything they liked. Only place I could catch fish was on main lake chunky rock banks, got 2 on a Wart and another dozen on the Ned. Every fish was close to the bank. Wind was getting on my nerves so I left at 1230. 2 keepers. Today it was almost dead calm when I launched, cold and frosty, but it warmed up fairly quickly. Fishing was much better. Caught fish on a couple of deep spots near cove mouths, deep being 15-20 FOW. Deep fish were spotted bass and smallies for the most part. Fished the Ned deep and a little bit of shaky head with a lizard. Ned fished best deep, but did get a few on the Liz. Fished in a couple of coves and found some largemouth on the shaky head/lizard combo. 5-10 FOW around trees, slowly dragging the Liz. Caught several keepers, but none that were over a couple of pounds. Also caught an 18" spawned out smallie in one of the coves. Caught 29 today, didn't keep a good count of the keepers, but had something like 6-8. Water temps today were 57-59. A lot of boats out. I went a little crazy with the camera.
