  1. Are you on Medicare? From what I can tell, Medicare will pay for a CPAP machine.
  2. I like it - I would change the peat in repeat to Pete, as in "RePete".
  3. Any plans to come out with a line of SIO3 signature lures? 😀
  4. Have not heard or seen them at all in Bella Vista. Go 25 mile east to Beaver lake in the dam area and it is constant noise from back in the woods. However when fishing on the lake, I don't see a one, but there has to be millions of them back in the trees.
  5. I can't give the exact spot away because my striper buddies would kill me, but that big island where point 1 is located has some stripers around it on the main lake side and in the channel. Best thing to do is get there at daylight and if there is no wind, you'll see them.
  6. Hit the lake early, off the water at 1030. There was scattered striper top water activity early. Picked up a couple of smallmouth on top, missed a couple of stripers. Top water slowed down, so went to throwing a 5/16th oz jig and a c-rigged craw on gravel. Picked up smallmouth here and there on the c-rig and jig. Pretty much in the 10-20 FOW range. Fishing a point and stripers started blowing up all around me. Caught two on top, one went about 12 lbs. and the other was a 3 lber. It was a brief flurry, but fun while it lasted. Ended the morning with close to 20 smallmouth and the two stripers. Lots of cicadas still being loud back in the woods, none on the water however.
  7. No ads for me either.
  8. I always used Wheaties for carp. Grab a handful, close your fist around them, dunk you closed fist in the water and pull it out, you want the Wheaties to be a little damp, then roll it into a ball and mold it around a treble hook.
  9. Now getting ads for "G-Shock" watches. I hate to admit to being influenced by a pop-up ad, but they are cool looking watches.
  10. Wow! Are there any skinny fish in that lake?
  11. OK. I'll be a guinea pig. Seeing tricycles for old folks ads. I guess the interwebz has figured out I am over 65.

    What's Brewing?

Just tried some Barrel Aged beer. Been shying away from it because I am too cheap to pay $13-15 for a four pack. The BIL talked me into it, now he's ruined me because it is good stuff. There's a hint of the whiskey in the flavor, thick stuff almost syrupy, packs a little punch, 13% alcohol. I'd call it a sipping beer.
  13. Family in town, yesterday we drove down to Fort Smith to see the new Marshals Museum. Building architecture is pretty neat, nice location near a stretch of the Arkansas river, scenic view of the river. Easy access. It is not a big place, we were done after 2 hours. If you read everything in detail, you could be there 3-4 hours. A lot of reading. History of the Marshall Service since it was formed about 1790. Coverage of events going back to the first whisky tax revolts, including topics such as slavery, the western frontier, prohibition, segregation, 60's demonstrations, recent events such as Ruby Ridge and The OKC bombing. I was hoping for more firearms stuff. They did have a few, one of Bass Reeves 1873 SA revolvers, and some Winchester lever actions. It's not something you'd want to bring young kids to, they'll get bored pretty quickly. Had to get a coffee cup.
  14. I will happily make a donation to CAM.
  15. It really is.
  16. I don't pass judgement on people that are having health struggles. Give them support if you can because they have a tough row to hoe.
  17. Water Levels on the Rise at Bull Shoals Lake With spring thunderstorms comes rising water levels on many lakes across Arkansas. As Bull Shoals Lake continues to rise above an elevation of approximately 665 feet, low-lying parking lots such as Lakeview and Lead Hill East become flooded, making the courtesy docks no longer usable. Therefore, we have temporarily removed the courtesy docks at these accesses and will reinstall them once the lake level recedes to the top of the boat ramp. At the Lakeview Access, the curve in the access road makes the dock an obstacle if it is not pulled out. However, if the lake continues to rise onto the access road, the Lakeview courtesy dock will become usable again. These access sites are still currently open, but boaters should always be mindful of underwater obstacles when launching during flooded conditions. We hope you have time to enjoy Bull Shoals Lake, but please be safe during flood conditions!
  18. Can't be any worse than the effect pain killers have. Check with the medicos to make sure there aren't any gotchas concerning your situation should you go with cannabis.
  19. I get Midway ads. I usually get on the forum via my computer, so they aren't as annoying as they are on a phone.
  20. I've heard that cannabis products will help with your appetite when you are on Chemo. It's legal in MO.
  21. How is the water clarity in Clifty?
  22. Man, you are catching some healthy fish!
  23. They are in the woods all around the dam area at Beaver. Constant loud buzzing noise. But they all stay back in the woods, never saw one on the water.
  24. As we all know, it only gets worse beginning this coming holiday weekend. 🥶
  25. Thanks for posting the video. Haven't had time to watch it yet, but in my future I want to do a redfish trip.
