If the Hawgs can't beat the Ragin Cajuns at home, we're in for a long year (again).
  3. I have seen one, and only one, here in NW AR. haven't been stung (yet).
  4. Wow!
  5. #23 - Your wife uses a plastic Walmart bag as a purse.
  6. Just to clarify - It's a Zoom Ultravibe Speed craw.
  7. How long does it take for fall radishes to mature? Will they survive a frost?
  8. Smoked salt? Never heard of that before, but sounds like a great idea.
  9. Just finished "Game Wars" - "The Undercover pursuit of wildlife poachers." By Marc Reisner. Published in 1991, might be a tad hard to find, but it's probably on Amazon. The book covers some of the cases of wildlife poaching taking place in the 80's. Ivory from walrus in Alaska, Louisiana ducks, crappie and deer. The descriptions of some of the poachers are hilarious, but some of those dudes were bad characters. What surprised me was how big the crappie poaching operations were at the time.
  10. Get the Bernard DeVoto edited edition of the journals.
  11. Yep, that or a T-rig, or a C-rig depending on the structure. They work well sometimes as a jig-trailer also. Versatile little suckers.
  12. Nice pics, some fat bass for sure.
  13. My mouth is watering!
  14. A tad brighter orange and blue than the Pond Scum Perch, but that could be a good thing in certain situations.
  15. I like my floro, Seaguar Abrazx, I need that extra sensitivity when I'm jig fishing.
  16. No direct evidence I guess that he took money, not that the NCAA needs bullet proof, but in this case they seem to need it.
  17. I've seen a lot of stuff, but never seen furniture up on blocks.
  18. Did the hinged one run well? Looks like a good idea BTW.
  19. Yep, some good bass there.
  20. If you don't have a War Eagle spinner bait (Mouse being the "elite" color) and some custom painted Wiggle Warts in your tackle box, you're not elite, at least in these parts.
  21. I keep telling myself to try a fluke, but keep forgetting when I'm out on the lake. Jeb did throw a Keitech for a bit, to no avail, but it was after the sun was out and the wind had died.
  22. Pond Scum Perch does not work (I'm taking a page out of Champ's book).
  23. Yeah it's a head scratcher..
  24. The whole Manziel thing is a joke. But I guess there's no proof he was given any money for signing 4,000 items for a sports memorabilia dealer.
  25. Brought my buddy Jeb along today and he either brought his lucky rabbits foot, or just having him in the boat was good luck, but we went first thing to a secondary point that has a couple of docks by it and we just hammered them right off the bat, I think we got 17 or so within a 50 yard stretch of bank, with some good fish in the bunch. Biggest was a 3 lb. LM, several LM's in the 2 -2.5 lb. range and a couple of 2 lb. smallies. probably had 10 keepers out of that area all told. They ate pretty much anything we threw at them, Megabug, Trick worm, UV Speed craw and a couple on the drop shot. Funny thing was, I fished this spot yesterday and only caught one bass there. Had a breeze blowing in on the point and some fog today and that sure seemed to turn them on. Of course all good fishing must come to an end, once they stopped biting at the hotspot we bounced around to fish several other points and a steep bank or two and managed a fish or two here and there. Ended up with around 25 for the two of us. Football jig came to life for a bit at the end. We stopped about 10:15, wind had died off completely, sun was beating down, fish had stopped biting - time to go! Water temp was 85 when we left.
