Brought my buddy Jeb along today and he either brought his lucky rabbits foot, or just having him in the boat was good luck, but we went first thing to a secondary point that has a couple of docks by it and we just hammered them right off the bat, I think we got 17 or so within a 50 yard stretch of bank, with some good fish in the bunch. Biggest was a 3 lb. LM, several LM's in the 2 -2.5 lb. range and a couple of 2 lb. smallies. probably had 10 keepers out of that area all told. They ate pretty much anything we threw at them, Megabug, Trick worm, UV Speed craw and a couple on the drop shot. Funny thing was, I fished this spot yesterday and only caught one bass there. Had a breeze blowing in on the point and some fog today and that sure seemed to turn them on.
Of course all good fishing must come to an end, once they stopped biting at the hotspot we bounced around to fish several other points and a steep bank or two and managed a fish or two here and there. Ended up with around 25 for the two of us. Football jig came to life for a bit at the end.
We stopped about 10:15, wind had died off completely, sun was beating down, fish had stopped biting - time to go!
Water temp was 85 when we left.
