Shoot Bill, I don't mind reading deepwater reports and I'm sure lots of folks on here do also. I also know several people that enjoy your reports that never post on here, don't let a relatively few people influence you as far as posting, the number of folks that appreciate your reports far outnumber those that don't.

This weeks edition of Let's Fish TV features shark fishing off the beach at Gulf Shores. They use huge baits as in a tuna head or whole bluefish. Of course, there's no way you can cast a bait that big and heavy, so the guide takes a kayak out and drops the bait off. Then you wait. That episode they only caught one relatively small blacktip, 4 feet long or so, but they showed some footage of a Great White they caught that looked to be 10 feet long and massive girth. They also had a drone overhead filming the beast when it was hooked. Eventually they beached it, unhooked it, turned it around and released it. It was pretty neat, there is, however, a lot of annoying Gulf Shores promotional stuff that you can fast forward through. The video will be available on their website next week. The catching the same fish brought this to my mind. Talking to a buddy yesterday, he was out on TR fishing deep water, threw a jig out, set the rod down to cast at a top water blow up, and sees the rod with the jig he'd thrown out shoot off like an arrow into the lake. It sank before he could get to it. He told me where it is, but it is in 50 feet of water. Might be there for a long time.

I can't recall catching one that broke me off, but I sure have caught some with other peoples broken off stuff.

You can make the O go away. Click on your profile, and on the O to the left you'll see a little image icon. Click on that icon and select an image to replace the O. Or you can leave it at O and quit posting. Your fate is in your hands.

Yikes, man I would not pay $12K to see that. Ol' Mick still gets around pretty well for an 80 yo.

I was talking to my old hunting and fishing buddy that lives in central Washington. He says the wind has blown there all year so far, and all that wind blows into SD.

That's crazy. Does Mick even sing at these deals or is it all lip-synch?

Catch a 100 bass AND get a check for $100. Can't beat that!

Very cool looking tiger trout.

Fished with Dutch today, we launched at 0530 and got off the water around 1100. We had to work for our fish, they have certainly become more scarce now than they were a month ago. We caught 15 smallmouth between the two of us. Best baits were c-rigged Zoom UV Speed Craws and jigs, fish were a little deeper, anywhere from 5 to 20 FOW. Couple early on top. Saw very little striper top water activity. Cicadas look to be done, pretty quiet day except for people noise. Very nice morning, 58 degrees out to start, 76 when we left. WT 78

It's funny how we could only find them in one place, and at that place they bit pretty well. I'm blaming it on the blue skies with little to no wind. Thanks for the trip Dayne!

My grandfather on my mother's side was in a tracked artillery unit in France and Germany in WWII. He died when I was 12 and one of my life's big regrets is not being able to talk to him and my other relatives that were in WWII as an adult. Anyway, my mom tells me that when grandads unit rolled into Germany they came across a concentration camp, said they could smell it for miles before they got there. The people in the camp were walking skeletons and they couldn't give the any food as they medical folks warned them that they could kill them by giving them too much food. The guys in his unit were not too sympathetic to any Germans after seeing that concentration camp. Papa and his buddies looted a castle while they were in Germany, he had a duffle bag of antique silverware, when it was time to come back to the States they were told if they were caught with any looted stuff they'd be in big trouble, so he left it all there. Says they did not search any of his stuff when they got on the boat, he could've gotten away with it. 😀 I did have a pair of German binoculars he brought back. I'm getting old so I passed them down to one of my younger cousins. Speaking of souvenir's, my Washington state bird hunting buddy had a luger that his father in law gave him. The FIL was in WWII and somehow obtained the pistol. I don't know the story behind it. The magazine had a couple of original bullets in it. They were green with age. Had a great uncle that flew a P-51, two other great uncles that were in the infantry in Europe. One of them was taken prisoner in the Battle of the Bulge, the Germans beat him up pretty badly, and to top it off he got frost bite. He got what today we'd call PTSD and was never right when he came back. Had a distant relative that was a Union soldier and was captured in Tennessee. He was sent to Andersonville, a notoriously bad POW camp. The story goes that while there he got sick and looked to be dead so they threw him on the death cart to haul him off for burial - but someone saw him wiggle a toe, they took him off the cart and he regained his health and survived the war. That's the story, who knows how accurate. War is miserable, I'm fortunate that no wars occurred when I was in the Army.

No advice from me, but looking forward to hearing how your latest adventure goes.

Congrats! Not doing tomatoes this year, but have some summer squash that is close.

AGFC urges outdoor enthusiasts and anglers to be cautious when floating Crooked Creek in Marion County. Due to the devastating tornados that swept across the northern part of the state on Memorial Day weekend, a large number of trees and other storm debris have made their way into the stream. Downed trees in the river can act like “strainers” and be potential hazards for floaters. The most impacted section of Crooked Creek is from Pyatt to the Mark Oliver Access. Please always practice safe canoeing and kayaking by wearing a life jacket and letting others know where you are going to be and when you will be off the water. Twitter Facebook Instagram Fishbrain

Yeah I should get it done (sigh). All those birds I shot and shot at are getting their revenge.

Always like Hollandaise sauce over baked salmon.

I used to fish with someone that was hard of hearing on the Bella Vista lakes. We'd be out there at 0600, there's houses all over the lake, quiet as can be, and He'd yell at me when he was talking. "WHAT ARE YOU USING!" "I JUST GOT A BITE!". "DID YOU WATCH THE GAME LAST NIGHT!". The hard of hearing don't realize that the normal hearing folks can hear OK. My hearing is going downhill, just a matter of time before I need aids.

Looks very tasty!

I'm going to guess on the translation and go for: "Come to God's House." That is one heckuva barn. Thanks for posting!

Your editor eye is still functioning.

Yep way too much. I'm sure they'll sell out and won't miss me. I'd get no satisfaction watching it.

Nope, I was already alive when that show was running. I know that I watched it, but can't remember any of the episodes.
