  1. I forgot the part about quickly. I fish the Ned pretty darn slowly, so I guess it would fail the quickly qualification.
  2. Ned rigs, using shroom heads with a wire weed guard, are somewhat snagless, and if you get hung up and have to break it off, you aren't out of many $$$.
  3. Welcome Tyler - You can poke around on Table Rock and find some bank access. The Big M COE park and the area around the boat launch has quite a bit of bank access, at least at the water level we have now. If you have some waders and are willing to dodge around the buck brush you can stay busy for a few hours. I've caught several bass in the past casting from in front of the parking lot before launching my boat.
  4. Welcome!
  5. I like it!
  6. I was living in the Seattle area in 2001 when the Mariners won 116 games. But, they lost to the Yankees in 5 games in the ALCS.
  7. Nice one Brett!
  8. HAHA, funny Moguy. Cubs are the favorites this year, but they are the Cubs. I would like to see the Red Sox play KC in the ALCS.
  9. Congrats on some nice fish!
  10. Hey guys - thanks for the food offers, you are certainly welcome to bring some food, it will get eaten I am sure. I will bring plastic cups, plates and utensils. Probably want to bring your own drinks, I think I remember someone brought some water last year, but that was about it.
  11. Got out today at 0800, wanted it to warm up a bit before I started, and fished until 2:30 PM. Still not finding many places holding fish, as a matter of fact, I think 6 or 7 of the 10 I caught came from the same place, a rocky point with submerged trees, Fish were a bit deep, 10-25 feet. Caught them on a shaky head and the Ned, very, very, light biters. Missed a good one, but about 10 minutes later caught a 4.5 LM that was my big fish of the day, 2nd place was a 15" Kentucky, and the rest were shorts. Water is still a stained green, and I saw temps that were in the 47-49 range.
  12. That is a great idea, those shad are moving slow and some of them are struggling. Ought to be perfect for a slow moving suspended bait like the F&F. I always get a kick out of watching a bobber disappear.
  13. Haha, yes that is a good winter spot that Mike saw me on. Didn't fish very well yesterday, had one bite and that was it. I think they were there, saw some on the bottom, but I just wasn't throwing what they wanted. Man there were a lot of boats out there yesterday.
  14. I also saw quite a bit of shad back in a couple of the coves, I think the warmer water near the surface brought them up, really saw some big schools of them, from a ways away they look liked shadows on the water. Didn't really see any bass going after them however. Some of the shad were struggling and saw some floaters here and there, almost lookedlike a cold water die off, but surface temps were 45-49 yesterday. Maybe it's a seasonal thing, one of you guys that understand shad will have to explain that.
  15. Very nice, thanks for the report!
  16. Nice one! Good to meet you, wish I could say the fishing improved after we talked, but we caught one little dink after talking to you and were out of there at 2:30. We ended the day with 7 total, 2 decent keepers LM's. Got most of out bites in the first couple of hours, then it got really tough. Most of the fish came on a shaky head.
  17. Well I see Mizzou is coming to Fayetteville this Saturday. Arkansas is playing like crap lately, would not surprise me to see Mizzou pull this one off. Arkansas has lost consecutive games to Miss. State, Ol' Miss and Auburn (lost to Auburn at home!).
  18. Caught one about 3-4 lbs. a couple of weeks ago on the Ned, and I'll usually get 6 -8 keeper sized walleye over the course of the spring fishing the Ned. I'm using Dave's heads, #2 Mustad and 1/2 Zinker.
  19. They seem to be getting used to the dirty water based on the reports of people catching them there. Thanks for the report!
  20. Indeed, that would make an excellent RC color. Some of their other cranks come in "Spring Craw", I'd like to see that in an RC. .
  21. Saw most of the first half and then the last minute of Mizzou beating SC. Nice win for the Tiggers.
  22. If the wind was blowing at Bull like it was blowing here in Bella Vista today, then you certainly had some wind. I like fishing slow in cold water and that is hard to do when it's whitecapping out there.
  23. I should be able to make the Expo on Friday.
  24. Sweet! Good to see those quality LM's.
  25. Here's the BPS version of the chain type retriever. Works on wood. Daiwa makes something similar, TW carries it. A lot of guys put these on one of those retractable dogleash deals, or mount them on a cut down rod. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-EZ-Lure-Retriever-Kit/product/52869/ I just watched Honey Hole Outdoors today, wouldn't you know it, Bill Wilcox got a deep diving crank hung up, he used a 2 oz teardrop sinker, attached it via a swivel to his line, let it drop and banged it a while on his lure and worked it free. Bad thing about that set up is if you're lure doesn't come off, your out another $1 for the sinker.
