  1. Nice chunks!
  2. Best wishes for getting rid of that stuff. I have not studied up on it myself.
  3. Dutch put the whipping on me today, 21 of those bass were his. I started off throwing shakey head lizard and worm, and some swimbait, could not get bit on that stuff and spent most of my time netting Dutch's fish. He got one that looked to be 3.5 lbs., and a few in the 2-2.5 lb. range. Got a bit breezy out there later in the AM, but other than that, it was a good day to be out fishing! Here's Dutch's fish:
  4. I have watched ,most of it, it's pretty good. At the start they were showing Rip Collin's 40 lb. brown, one of the shots was an overhead where he is holding it upright in some kind of tank while it was still alive. From the side it looks big, but when you see the overhead you realize how wide that fish was, just massive. I haven't looked but you might be able to catch it on the PBS Arkansas website. If you fish the Ozark trout tailwaters, you'll like it.
  5. The description is vague, but tonight on PBS is an hour long deal about the Little Red concerning trout and tourism.
  6. That's a great smallie, congrats!
  7. When Ray Scott started the whole pro bass fishing thing, the guys all fished out of identical boats, identically equipped. Those days are gone of course. I'm still enjoying fishing without FFS.
  8. Note that these dudes are wearing eye protection while viewing the Eclipse:
  9. Alabama school. Fishing team is mentioned on their website: You Belong at Montevallo - University of Montevallo
  10. Don't forget to get your lineups in.
  11. Crok-o-gator has a nice flat head that you can bend the blade wire back and get contact with the head. Creates a nice clack.
  12. Didn't know there was a U of Montevallo until I saw those results.
  13. I heard that a friend of a friend went to the H launch at 0630 Friday and the lot was full. No way I was fishing the Rock this weekend.
  14. I'm getting Midway ads like crazy. Seems like Phil did something a while back that got rid of most of the ads, maybe that setting expired somehow. @Phil Lilley
  15. Took 20 lbs. to win: Abu Garcia High School Fishing - Major League Fishing
  16. 15 lbs. or better all the way down to 60th place. 2024 Abu Garcia College Fishing Table Rock Lake - Major League Fishing
  17. They are different critters. Hellbenders, as far as I know, are only found in streams. Also similar to hellbenders are mudpuppies (Necturus spp.); mudpuppies, however, have external gills, which are red and plumelike, behind the head on both sides. They have 4 toes on each foot. As adults, mudpuppies reach only 8–13 inches in length. Hellbenders lose their external gills once they reach 4 or 5 inches long, they have 4 toes on the forelimbs and 5 toes on the hind limbs, and their total length may reach 24 inches.
  18. Buddy of mine was out yesterday and he saw some on top too. I was on Beaver yesterday and didn't see anything come up on top. No shad around where I was fishing which is probably the reason.
  19. At the Big Bass Bash. Congrats!
  20. There were a lot of boats, friend of mine fished out of PC and he said there were a lot down there too. Must be a tourney going on. It's not a hellbender, most likely a mudpuppy.
  21. Nice drum! I was out there today also, and didn't do quite as good as you, caught 11 bass, all smallies except one, and a big white bass. Ned rig for me too. A tad slow today for some reason. Well you made me drag out the pic of my best drum, caught it maybe 10 years ago on a Ned not too far from the dam. Thought it was a striper, then it was what the heck? It bottomed out my scale which went to 15 lbs., so I'm going with 17 pounds. Here's my number one weird catch from Beaver, also on a Ned.
