  1. The museum is nice, we visited it back in January. Large Firearm collection, bird Mounts, local stuff. Be sure to see it. Restaurant is good I am told, it looked closed for off weekend.
  2. The traffic back up 55 to St. Louis lasted until late last nite I was told, bumper to bumper and 40. Going home yesterday after work resulted in all 2 lanes with bumper to bumper going every direction. But it was moving around 40 to 50.
  3. We are dry in patches. The farm has not had any rain to speak of for a while. El Nino has blown it just north and kept it south. I think my total gauge for 24 is still around 5 inches. I think March was less than a half inch. The little shower we had last time sprouted mine. South of me near Dexter, they were finding 50 lb sacks of them 2 weeks ago. But they also have places near Greenville that did not produce a single one. Northeast of me over in Illinois, 50 lb sacks of them. Banner year also. Temps have been right, but moisture is a key. Too much cools the ground off too much. Funny thing about apple trees, the last tree in the old orchard died a few years ago. Its about 40' tall and has not produced an apple in my lifetime. Never saw a morel near it. Mine all come around the catalpas and a lone tulip poplar Dad planted after I left for college.
  4. The girls seem to be liking other girls anyway, you don't have a chance. Picked about 60 in the yard at farm Friday afternoon. Best crop I have seen there in years. All other spots empty, too dry here.
  5. We had 4 minutes of totality, I watched it off the deck of a customer in Cape county. Lights were dim for 20 minutes, but it brightened up fast after the moon started letting light back to us. Headlights came on vehicles and pole lights lit up.
  6. I have seen it under sunny skies back in 17. I was looking forward to seeing how dark it could get under cloud cover. Guess I will wait another hundred years for a shot.
  7. You would need to get that certified. The equipment it is attached to may just make it look bigger.....
  8. I always like oils. Water color paint is really wishy washy. Hard to get fine details.
  9. Nice ones. Heading to Pickwick in morning for a 3 day weekend with Grandson. 2 weeks ago it was bedding bass, skipjacks, and white bass.
  10. Buffet Cleanout Crew....
  11. El Nino has been pushing the moisture thru here lately. This one has struggled to produce a tenth of an inch here today. High winds blew most of the droplets on east. Plowed my big garden at the farm yesterday. Hope the dry spell ends, I need a good mess of sweet corn and okra this year.
  12. There were 3 different bigfoots at the chinese buffet today. Complete with tattoos. And a man bear pig....
  13. Sowbugs were for the shufflers down there. They have shifted directions. Wanted to go, family changed my plans. Is usually a good time with good people. Steelheads need some access to ocean saltwater for some time to become steelheads. They are ocean run trout.
  14. As Eddy Murphy once said, Gooney Goo Goo. https://www.quotes.net/mquote/999411
  15. Its kind of like humping a gorilla, but I have never seen one female.
  16. That's a bright brown trout in good shape. Surprised the Smallie is so dark.
  17. Sasquatch hair reflects camera images like the alien in Predator.
  18. I want to see him launch it and get it back on. That has to be a cluster at the boat ramp.
  19. Plenty of them at the pound for rent. Owners in jail, found tied to trees, dumped on side of road, too aggressive for the new kid we have, bit me, bit everyone else, neighbors complained had to get rid of it, etc. Nobody wants them too long and the skull is too thick to kill. Looks like Mange to me. Have a coyote on farm that looks like that, survived his second winter this season.
  20. If they can chew thru a basses scales, imagine what it can do from the inside......... They may just want to get slurped up for fun.
  21. If you hit them just right, they will go away.
  22. Farts are always funny, til you crap your pants......
  23. I have seen bass flick and flop till they get a lure out of their mouth. Waited around for a few to pop back up and retrieve them. I can only imagine the aggravation they have with one of those suckers sticking on their side. Razor sharp teeth, held that one on 11pt in forceps looking it over closely. Then let it bake on the boat deck for a while before I released it back to the wild.
  24. I guess they were always here, just never saw them much. Had that one on a 11pt smallie a few years ago and none since. They are a primitive species like an eel.
  25. That was his golfing hand.
