  1. Its gotta be named "Social Gathering".....
  2. MDC supports the harvest of legal fish to maintain their model of management. Streams used to support the taking of fish for food, but then the herds came and nature can't keep up.
  3. But, those are put and take fish. MDC does not stock smallies, stream bred critters.
  4. Pistols at 5 paces would be a fair competition, I would even spend money to watch that.
  5. That is about as good as MDC putting bounty tags on them and calling it a "research study". The decline in smallmouth and increase in pressure happened that summer and has never recovered. BTW, can you run a jet boat on either of the streams?? I can toss a yak in the boat and make it legal, just tow it behind. I might anty up and go for it that weekend....
  6. Did I mention I built another AR? 350 Legend. Ammo still on the shelves in most places.
  7. Saw this one near a jobsite the other day. There has been an albino gene going around that town for many years.
  8. Its a move in the right direction.
  9. Hang in there, seems like you are still up and running. 3 years ago this time, I was pretty well done for, coming out of the radiation and starting my low point. It will get better soon.
  10. Protected, Federal and State fine to jack with that nest. Especially after you introduced the evidence online.
  11. I sell garage doors. Normally have to deal with high end clients and commercial. Bottom feeders usually get the kind of business I have seen the last two months. But the bottom feeders shut down, lost their suppliers to Covid, or could not find enough workers to staff their business. WE trudged on as nothing happened.
  12. There was some mention of a Ghost tech motor coming out that was abandoned. Ghosts are not real and are not live. I guess my Johnson just become obsolete too.
  13. That thing is a tank, but the trailer has 2 axles. How much does it weigh? How will you get it off when you find the spot where it does reach the bottom?
  14. Rubbers degrade too fast on those. Don't know what the Chinards use on those now, but I can't get them to last on the shelf or in the truck very long. When I grab one, I get a broken sling. As a kid, I had the Wrist Rocket, like the B52 but fixed brace. I was deadly with it. Killed a big cottonmouth on the other bank across the creek one time. But those two, the rubbers don't last long.
  15. Less decisions to make when buying a boat comes to mind.
  16. When I was a kid, a green coon hide that size would bring $30 to 40 in late 70's. One night we took 17 with the dogs. No more.
  17. Looks like Black is the only color from now on. Chinards getting all of the business.
  18. Is there really any difference, they were all made at the same places. Johnson and Evinrudes were the same in my little Johnny Rude 9.5 tiller back in the 60's.
  19. Missed a few pages before I posted. Buddy of mine in the city, STL, had a squirrel that made a den in his crawl space above the ceiling. I taught him how to trap it in a live trap, caught several squirrels in it. But never caught the one in the ceiling. I asked him one night, "What are you doing with them"? His response, "dropping them off in the park a few blocks away"! He painted the next one with spray paint and proved me right. They come back. He started painting them blood red and they quit.
  20. I do it with the loudest gun I can find at 6 am in the morning. All the neighbors start calling their dogs and kids in when the coon dies. Cats get the silenced stuff.
  21. Roscoe looks like he is taking a dirt nap. Either a full belly or a sleeping pill.
  22. Its been 5 years since I was there. Last trip of the season before the cancer diagnoses. Missed the big flood in 2017 while doing radiation. I really need to hit it again this season. Been a long time since the upper portions.
  23. I use bamboo skewers thru the weave of the live traps to secure the bait towards the back past the trigger. Coons are pretty crafty and have great dexterity in the front paws. I usually skewer a hot dog for bait.
  24. The pork chop is great in the air fryer. Rub it with olive oil and a spice rub with brown sugar, cumin, garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper. Cook till 140 and let it rest. Pork steaks have been too thin here. Lots of fat on them.
  25. May be a Cardinal. I have seen Hummingbird nests, dove, robins, and never ran across any of the others.
