  1. You are right, Jimmy needed some help......
  2. Growing up on a full fledged, self sufficient farm, I went thru extensive allergy testing at age 8 and shots till I was 15. But Dad was a smoker and I really blame all of that on him. Had the smoke not invaded my young lungs, I probably would have not suffered my youth. He quit when the Allergist at LeBonheur in Memphis suggested that some of that smoking may be part of it. I will never know if it was the cause or the extensive shots I took that cured me. But smoke still kills me, I tend to avoid it whenever possible.
  3. I carry a gun, if I wear a mask I may be mistaken for a bad guy........
  4. https://news.yahoo.com/asian-giant-hornets-really-dangerous-115004405.html Still have a better chance of catching Covid and surviving.
  5. Art History got me thru one of my required arts classes. Kinda interesting. My time required 4 PE credits. Aced archery, took Fencing and loved it. Judo was fun. Took a latin course to get some background on the naming systems of the species, dropped it second day, could not stand the flaming teacher on that one.
  6. Organic Chemistry did nothing for me. All of the chemistry teachers I had were worthless nerds with no skills. My organic chem lab was tainted and my labs never came out right. The hoods sucked too. Too many vapors got loose. Biology was my thing, my Path Micro and Immuno classes had a smart person. I took Botany and Astronomy as electives for kicks. Physics was a breeze.
  7. Plowed the main garden up at the farm over weekend. First time it has been completely turned in 30 years. Fescue was waist high in it and roots from a poplar tree branches out in it thick. After that rots a few weeks, I will disc it up and plant late corn, okra, cucs, squash, and cantaloupe in part of it. The other will be alfalfa or buckwheat for bees and deer.
  8. Play a banjo real loud before and after shooting.
  9. College today is nothing but an open book test. Online classes, lots of off campus studies. It has changed greatly since I was there. You can even retake the tests over to get a better grade. About the only thing you learn is how to Google search for answers. Not sure how the new college makes you any smarter.
  10. Blue heron probably.
  11. One week later and still no Covid. Front jacked up the fishing this weekend.
  12. Passed over us here also,
  13. I always thought lemon juice activated secret messages written in invisible ink
  14. Covered up strawberry patch with black weed barrier tarps. Precut for the raised beds they reside in. Buckets, pots, and styrofoam cups over the maters and peppers. Big ole blue tarp over the apple tree. Just went out and put a few cups back on the small plants. Wind finally died, 52 at sunset. Cooling fast.
  15. Sheltered in place still?
  16. Flew right over the house as I was getting home from work. Nice big ole black plane. The noise is alot quieter than the B52. But I heard it coming and rushed to a clearing to see it pass over. F 18 was flying around overhead the other day when I was out in the yard. Don't know what it was up to, but fun to watch. And the roar of the jets, or growl, its kind of a deep growl. Gets your attention.
  17. I feel so special, a big ole B2 bomber just flew right over my house in honor of me being essential and pounding the pavement the past few months. I was disappointed that there was no big boom when it flew over all of those that pestered me with their stupidity while sitting at home with nothing to do. Just now, a small Cessna buzzed the area, look at wife and stated that it was the flyover for all the ones that stayed at home the last few months.
  18. Forgot "extraordinary times". Where did they come up with all of this?
  19. I used to read Novels. Now its an ugly word. But, these are "challenging times". Phraseology of the scam has really stuck on me. Hey, "we are all in this together".
  20. The little Snoopy rods are for the little tykes that may catch a dink. If you want them to catch a fish, provide them with a rod that will handle the stress of whatever you are going to let them fish for. And above all, fish for something they can catch so it will keep their interest.
  21. Walmart quit carrying any pistol ammo and ammo to feed an AR platform it 5.56, .223, .300 blk out. But the still sell rifles chambered in the rounds. What kind of numb nuts would buy a gun from a place that does not sell rounds for it? Covid caused all of the horders to buy up all of the ammo, and guns. You will see it in a few months at the gun shows for sale and on Craigslist for a profit. Covid has limited production of components, ammo, and firearms from manufacturers. Distributors have had issues in the supply chain also. Most online retailers will ship when it comes in, try several and go with the flow. Moral of the story, don't get caught short.
  22. Gotta keep it light on here for the sensitive types. We are all here to have some fun and learn something.
  23. Never could warm up to the butch bull dyke types. Had a few of them, kept the gown tight.
  24. Covid is terrible. Its been a terrible drain on the economy and people's overall well being. As I approach the end of life, I have an approximate time of death from natural causes based on family history and life. I lost a whole spring of my life this year to Covid, the crappy weather, and stress induced by the BS that Covid generated. I love spring, turkeys, morels, fishing, gardening, and the whole rebirth of life after a long winter dirt nap. I bagged turkey season due to weather and other things. I have not fished as much due to high volume workload and weather, compounded by lack of facilities. And morels burned out when weather hit 90 degrees, early. As of late, I lost a few springs to Cancer, which has cost me at least 10 springtimes due to the treatments I endured. But, at least we have what we have and can vent it here. Its like a TV, just switch the channel if you don't like what is on this channel.
