  1. Just like the tube, don't like it, switch the channel. I always thought your neck of the woods was pretty quiet. But the crazies are getting even worse this year. Too much time on their hands and lots of free government money to keep the habits up. Then the phones with F Book and Tweeter keep them stirred up also. People are loosing grips on reality.
  2. It is sort of confusing. 2 members of my party in Sept had to buy the stamps to fish for the few hours we were there.
  3. Looks like the cash cows, sorry, Elk Farmers, have made it a need for a youth trout permit, $5. Youth Trout Permit
  4. Dang, I had not seen that it had come back. Keep fighting it.
  5. Alcohol kills an average of 261 deaths per day per the CDC, but the OP is taking shots to cope with the Covid. 102 per day killed per the Automobiles based on the NTSC, but someone drives to the liquor store to get the booze. 1 in 6 Americans get sick from food poisoning each year, its a gamble eating. You can live in fear or accept the fact all life ends in death. If you want numbers and risk, look at the facts. If you are over 70, have diabetes, coronary or respiratory disease, immune deficiencies, or any underlying cause, hunker down. Covid is 10 percent more deadly than the normal flu bug in that risk group. Personally, I don't want to be sick of anything. I avoid sick people and sick places. Faith and Family. Its all that really matters.
  6. You is the one that let those otters loose. That is what has kilt all of the fishes.
  7. No Black Friday this year. Wife gets to spend Thanksgiving at home with the family.
  8. That buffet at the Sirloin Stockade in Rolla is excellent. You can wear gloves if you are worried. Get out and spend some time in normal land, its not so bad. Stay away from the cities that promote the Covid and you will do fine. There are those out in the real world that will welcome you. Its bad if you have underlying conditions or at risk. If you are normal and healthy, there is nothing to worry about. Turn off the TV and pretend you are off the grid.
  9. Internet can come up BS based on drug co advertisements and people that don't realize how the body really works.. Trust your doctor if they are good at what they do. Weigh your options and listen to what they have to say. Chemo is destructive to the whole body. Radiation is pinpoint and normally damages only the tissues around the target. If the cancer is spread thru the body, the only way to attack the whole body is with chemo. It seeks out and kills the cancer taking alot of other good cells along the course of treatment.
  10. Reelfoot to the north of you, Tn River to the east. Sitting at Pickwick right now getting ready to hit the river. Been a tough weekend, strong front and drizzle most of yesterday. Hoping today is better.
  11. Going down behind a big front and shad balls are not there yet. Fall has been warm.
  12. Nice. Getting fat for the winter. Gives me something to shoot for on Pickwick this weekend. My first trip down since July, hopefully the pigs are hungry.
  13. My buddy left a nice Orvis Fly rod leaning against the fence in the parking lot at the lower end of Skialak Lake on the Kenai at Jim's Landing in Alaska back in 2000. We had just completed a harrowing journey across the lake in an inflatable raft with a small outboard, loaded with gear, 3 men, 2 stinking dogs, against a gale force wind with huge whitecaps. Our "captain" pulled over once to smoke a doobie to get up the nerve to press on. Did not even realize it till the next day as we were gathering up stuff for the return trip.
  14. I drug one around from the Science dept in College one night at the main ditch next to the Diversion Channel. I found an AMT Hardballer by the grace of good luck. It was a stainless steel pistol, but the mag was regular steel and the magnet locked on to it. Fell out of my shoulder holster as I jogged across the railroad bridge to avoid an oncoming train. My buddies dived for it and could not find it. Some others came thru and asked what we were looking for. I said "a Zebco 33 rod and reel". "Going thru alot of trouble for just a cheap rod and reel"! "But my Daddy gave it to me the day he died, lots of sentimental value....."
  15. I have not fished it in years, it was still stocked a few times a year back then. I did catch a few nice rainbows around 13 to 16 in the campground. Back then, it was primitive camping only and walkin access below the campground down a service road. Then the trash started hanging out there and it was pretty rough. I went thru there last year and noticed the campground improvements. Need to go back and try it again. We used to hike up to the spring and above. Back in the day, there was a gravel pit above the 63 bridge and not much to see.
  16. It takes a good speed connection to show the pics. How good is your internet?
  17. Firefox still shows it as unsecure because of images. Even with the https/ The changes took place and the same bookmark on my browser. But the security features of some browsers may be blocking some content. Never used Chrome, stay away from Edge or Explorer. I have always been Firefox with an Opera backup. Apple products are never used by me.
  18. I always like the area, used to go there often. Never caught a lunker there, but always had fun. Did you hike up to the spring?
  19. I was looking for something different in the AR platform back in the spring and a buddy of mine pointed me to the Bear Creek Arsenal web. They have a unique side charging system. He had built out 2 .450 for a bear hunt and liked them. The .350 Legend offers more knockdown power in the same frame as the 300 Blackouts I have built in the past. And it is a fairly innovative cartridge. 145-180 grain bullet with about the same range, 200 yards. Straight wall cartridge also, easy reload when I find the stuff to do it. But, as of now, I can still buy factory ammo at the local Wally reasonable.
  20. There is something out of whack with the security certificates. Firefox reports that the website does not report ownership and no encryption. Other forums us https. in the url that secures it. Depending on the browser and OS, the security may be turned up high enough to prevent loading pics and hover overs.
  21. I have a new .350 Legend Thumper with his number on it. Built it last spring and its aching to kill. Bear Creek Side Charging 18"upper on my built out lower. Can still find ammo for it, the only AR I have been able to feed this summer.
  22. I activated neighborhood watch, that should help. All else fails, get the idiot brother in law and his band of hog hunters over for a beer fest after deer season to root it out.
  23. Popup Blocker? That little heart pops up something that may be blocked by a browser when you hover over it. I can't tell by the pic what operating system or browser he is using. May be Mac. Firefox is showing a unsecure connection to the forum for me. Have you updated certificates for the new web upgrade?
  24. Key ring with keys to various padlocks from many locations. But, that trip, it required borrowing a pair of bolt cutters at Wally World for a few minutes to cut the chain that kept people from stealing my canoe off the trailer so we could float. I love Walmart's easy return policy.... Had spares at home for almost all of the locks that I lost the keys for.
  25. That marriage is for the best reason I have heard for a while, to peeve her parents off. Have to suffer thru alot to get a little satisfaction in life.
