  1. First Alaska trip on the Kenai River at the upper end of Skialak Lake, we stayed at a improvised float camp of locals. Cathole with 2 boards across it, 5 gallon bucket with bottom cut out, regular toilet ring and lid sit on top of it. Morning ritual resulted in a balancing act trying to keep all components in line for the bearing down to get the job done. If you lost balance, you end up in the pit. Compounded by the fact that it was on a makeshift trail cut into the thick underbrush that the local grizzly used to cross the peninsula we were camped on. Really hard to concentrate. Move out day, someone wanted to toss that bucket into the raft I was on. it went to the fire pretty quick, too many splatters.
  2. Don't recall a brown Zinger. Most were yellow like a Twinkie. If its yellow, dude has issues....
  3. Its a running joke. If i even thought that was an insult from him, I would cut off his honey supply...... His boat is mint, and so is mine. Some trash their boat no matter what the make or model. Take good care of your stuff and it will take care of you. That being said, I have a Ranger sitting out in the field waiting for a nice bonefire. It was abused, transom gone and busted out. I bought it boat, motor, trailer, and original trolling motor for $200 cash. Refurbed the trailer, nice c channel model with almost new from factory axles and used it for a while and storing it now. Scrapped the rest out and am money ahead. Used it on other projects or sold off. The Ranger hull was worthless, sunbaked and fuzzy, carpets and other stuff trashed. Motor blown, sold for scrap.
  4. Who takes the dog fishing?
  5. We never got a chance to give that one a good run, but it did smoke alot. Rangers from the 80-90 time frame rode good. But the transoms rotted out and fell apart. Seen a few of those bad ones on the market. They always seem to put a good trailer under them.
  6. I have had all Trackers and my fishing buddy has Tracker and Nitro. All good. Only complaints are customer service after the sale and the Merc misc issues that seem to plague the powertrains.
  7. Anybody seen any more rattlers?
  8. I would think the Tracker would draft too deep in that area unless a strong, predicted, flow is going on. Trouble is, tailwater streams can fluctuate alot in the course of a day and it all depends on the demand for electricity. Stick with the jet and hope you don't get caught in low water.
  9. Those protesters are popping up everywhere......
  10. I have been using Midway since the early 90's. Greatest Missouri business as far as shooting sports go. I have always had excellent service from them. Bass Pro is second to them. Potterfield has it going on.
  11. I am on Wrench's side, I only ride things that you pour gas in. Dam grass fed critters are too much maint. and tend to have a mind of their own.
  12. Shady place to rest.
  13. I need a new dirt bike. Thinking of restoring the ole Trail 90 from my youth sitting in the shed.
  14. Merc 4 strokers.
  15. It was a peaceful trip
  16. Should have got crop insurance like the big farmers do. Try keeping bees. You need a second job to support that habit.
  17. Market is running pretty high on them right now. Even used boats are going for that much.
  18. Not a cast. Had the wife along and was just checking things out. Letting her get the feeling for what else i can use a jet boat for.
  19. Radiation keeps cooking for a while after that last treatment. Takes a year to get to the "new" normal. But if you survive, it will make you stronger. But, you will not be the same as before. It is a damaging treatment.
  20. Back to the Current River this weekend for a little getaway, Masks not required in those areas unless you run across a random commie. Scoured the area around the middle part looking for a ramp. Powder Mill is wiped out, even the gift shop sitting there in ruins, nobody seems to care. Log Yard on the east side is just a gravel bar with the primitive access full of cars. Dropped the boat off in Ellington and hit the Elk Viewing area. Put the Yoda to use on some of the trails that were washed out but only saw a deer, turkey hen, squirrel, skink, snake, an a lone transgender wandering thru the wilderness. Headed down to Van Buren for a run on Sunday. Found a gravel bar and relaxed for a while. Boat traffic and all else was very slow. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Found a use for those Little Piney Can stickers.
  21. I am still looking for a front stick steer config. Maybe. Jury still out. Spent Sunday on the current with Social Distance. Worked just fine with light traffic
  22. Just a pup. Did you have the zoom lens on or did you just walk up for the money shot?? Ya know them critters are poison??
  23. Stopped by the Jet Doctor this weekend and they said hulls are 10 weeks out. Gonna be a winter project if it heads that direction.
  24. Might overheat unless air cooled motor...
  25. The trouble with boats is everyone does things a little different and does not leave a schematic to follow. I went to Tracker looking for a simple wiring diagram for a mass produced boat. The service tech stated "Man, that would make things easier if they factory would do that!!!" But they don't. Pumps are probably in back below waterline to draw water. May be under tanks and batteries. Probably buried deep
