  1. Scribed.com has a free month of reading if anyone still reads. Been downloading some fly tying books this morning. Good stuff, for free.
  2. Still $1.99 on this side of State. Only dropped from $2.17 last weekend. Our vendors seem to keep it high for some reason.
  3. And the streets are safer....
  4. At the local shops this week, I still noticed that many still don't wash after using the toilet.
  5. Had the scours this morning, burned thru a weeks supply. Hardly wait till the trees leave out, my favorite is the catalpa with its big green leaves. Till then, I may have to use pine needles.
  6. Scribd.com has offered up a free 30 day membership to their digital content. Do a little reading.
  7. Good luck to you also, maybe we can fish together some day.
  8. Throttled up and on plane now. 3 years out. Doctor visits are down to every 6 months and no extra testing. Fully recovered, strength back to normal. A few side affects but adjusted good. Ready to face Covid 19 full bore.
  9. Never got off topic, you were just assuming they only eat scuds and seem to target them based on that. Wrench started it. Trout park trout are conditioned to eat pellets, about size 12 to 14. Anything that resembles them will elicit a strike out of competitive reflex. If your reflexes are precise, it will result in a hookup. They have become found of orange or yellow pills, either yarn or cheese, or power bait because of egg ingrained feeding in genes. White jigs have became a staple from the parts floating by from trout cleaning in the stream or decaying parts floating by. Not many survive to the point to feed like a native. They have been fed little brownish pellet all of their lives in the concrete ponds where they were created. Match the hatch.
  10. Investing should start soon, this low will pass like it did in 08. MAGA will prevail.
  11. Funny little Face book post a week ago. Shutdown, Are the agents working????
  12. My services are deemed essential and our factories are still producing. Most office staff working offsite. But, I have been out in the public all week, shaking hands and kissing babies as usual. I am in sales and project management. Upside, most idiots are off of the road, driving is easier. I have better access to hoard supplies from other out of the way locations on company time. But, I will probably end up working from home soon. Residential side fell flat this week. Commercial projects rolling on.
  13. Have they closed the MDC lands and accesses yet? Illinois did. Arkansas announced that you can fish free without a license till the end of March.
  14. I have seen them eat a cigarette butt. They love those little green palsa indicators I use, looks like a big chunk of watercress.

    What's Cooking?

Back in the day when I let the first wife cook. She did it up with a pack of mac and cheese, can of peas. I did not let her cook much. Survival food only here tonite. Honey garlic chicken thighs, stir fry veggies with mushrooms, and low mein noodles. Served with a salad. Topped off with a Schafly Pale Ale.
  16. Old steel aged may crack with a load of modern powder. Start with puff load.
  17. There is no standard. Different loads, barrel length, calibers all come into play. Download a good ballistic app and plug in your rifle and load to see how to sight in. 223 out of a 16 barrel will be pretty flat out to 200 yards. 30 cal and above perform more in an arc and will drop considerable.
  18. Putting together a river jet boat.
  19. Noticed some of the stuff coming up finally here. No pics, but it was the spinach I planted. Traveling around this weekend. Things are greening up down south of here like spring. Everything south of HWY 60 has Bradford pears blooming out and things greening up. Jackson Tn was budding leaves on trees.
  20. Academy sold out of most ammo here today when I ran by for some stuff for the boat project. Lots of handgun sales also.
  21. I was wondering if it was a urine sample in his lap.
  22. Inflow is coming into lake from Wilson Dam near Muscle Shoals. Water leaves Pickwick thru the Tombigbee Canal and Pickwick Dam. Anything over 100,000 cfs generates dangerous current above the dam and makes the river below dangerous around the dam. Pickwick was spilling 200,000 plus the day of the accident.
  23. I thought Sowbug was always in Feb. Late this year??? No need to cancel, just reschedule in late April. Flu bug will have run its course by then.
  24. I think I had snake loads in it that day. Not as much flash out of the 6" barrel. It was the first registered new pistol I purchased when I turned 21, spent a whole $299 on it. Alot of money back then.
  25. 22's are always fun. Bought a little Ruger LCP 2 22lr last weekend. Amazingly good shooter. You should enjoy a nice 1911 22. I have a Marvel Conversion for my Full Size 45 Acp that shoots the 22 Lr with a Colt Ace Mag. Nice shooting rig. I picked up a Walther 22 PPK for my Christmas present this year. Shot my Uncles when I was a kid and wanted another ever since. Walther is making them again.
