  1. Sunday 1-4pm. Fished Narrows to Trophy Run. Pretty slow. Maybe caught 10 on the sculpin/ginger jig and one on ginger micro jig below float. Gonna grab a bite then take dad and one his buddies up near Short Creek to catch some eaters for a fry. Hopefully evening bite picks up.
  2. If we are counting that one then that means I finally boated a 20”+ in my own boat since I grabbed the stinkin thing! 😂
  3. Saturday 3-6pm. Fished around Short Creek. Boated 20-25 on sculping/ginger jig and pink worm. Sunday 8-10:30am. Fished same area with dad and had around 20. Started off good and then slowed down. Jigs, pink worm and olive micro beneath float. Found a big diploid brown floating dead by Riverlake on our way up. Probably 30” and 12-15#.
  4. Is there anybody around the area that sells xd100 oil?
  5. I like using the ZMAN Punch Crawz on jigs up to 1/2oz. Like all ZMAN products, they pretty well last forever or at least until you break the lure off. The trailers with the flapping claws such as a Paca Chunk are good when the water is hot, but they don't hold up very well.
  6. The only thing I've noticed is that the site doesn't automatically redirect you to HTTPS. It could have been like this forever thought for all I know as I never actually paid attention. If you type https://forums.ozarkanglers.com then it will show secure and you can check and see that certificate is still valid until 12/31/20.
  7. I love a good white bite. Dad and I are headed down Saturday for a few days so I hope it continues.
  8. Livesay FINALLY paid off after killing me time and time again.
  9. I'm going down next weekend with the parents. If you make it down, holla at me!
  10. I took Palaniuk out the day before the cut off. No surprise that he ended up winning the thing.....😑
  11. I didn't much effort in to picking my team this time. Seems the more I analyze things, the worse I do. I'm just picking names I recognize and like this time around so we'll see how that goes.
  12. I had a 14" smallie blasting a bluegill out of the water right besides the boat a few weeks ago. It took me two casts and four strikes on a whopper plopper before it finally got hooked up. Sucker was knocking that bluegill and my plopper 2' out of the water!
  13. I hope the water isn't high again like last year. Poor @JestersHK was too busy screaming out ROCK! and TREE! to focus on fishing as we slipped down the river.
  14. India and Brazil are closing the distance on us. They are both up over 4 million cases now. It won't go away after the election, but depending on who wins will determine the tone set by the media in relation to it.
  15. Smack them with a rooster! That'll teach em to shut down in front of a Gator!
  16. Is Sappington the one with the brown trout pattern on the entire side of his boat? If so, dad has the pleasure of running in to him at Cooper Creek this summer. He said he's not sure if he has ever talked to anybody so full of themselves. Dad mentioned something about Bablers record brown and all that guy could do was cry about how it wasn't right that it was caught on a pink worm instead of a fly. I'm sure he knows his stuff and is a great fisherman, but I don't think I could handle being around that type of person for very long.
  17. If I can catch a fish doing it, anybody can!
  18. That’s when I go to the down town ramp. Cooper Creek when it’s icy can be “exciting”.
  19. Even during the winter it seems to be pretty busy on the weekends unless the weather is absolute trash. Bring on the nasty, miserable fall/winter weather!
  20. You can wade along bank from cable down to at least boat ramp. I have a jet boat and was able to boat around up to the cable with ease a few days ago. Blake was up there with a 2070 and a prop motor and had no problems. It was just enough water to keep waders near the bank so you didnt have to worry about coming up on them in the middle of the river.
  21. That was a blast! Will definitely be making it a point to get down and do this more often. Hopefully that big brown sea monster will grace me with its presence one of these days. It’s amazing how trout go from fickle little weenies to bait crushing demons after the sun goes down.
  22. Good mojo as long as it ain't a giant walter......
  23. I sure hope so. Been a while since I've made it down to try for fall browns and never has it been at night. I'm sure everybody in my boat will bust a 20+ brownie instead of me like always though..... 😁
  24. A 3-4" swimbait on a 1/4oz jighead has been my best producer this year. Have tried several and they have all worked about the same. I've pretty well settled on the Tackle HD swimmers at this point simply because they hold up the best for me. They comein 3.5 and 4" so if you need something smaller like a 2.8", it's hard to beat the Keitech for that size. They just don't last! Kind of like a senko.
  25. I used to do the pellet fly deal, but I referred to it as "I drove 3.5 hours down here and I'm gonna make sure I catch a few no matter what" fishing. Definitely not dry fly fishing lol.
