    What's Cooking?

Still eating lettuce and I feel like a rabbit, A carnivorous rabbit. Prepared a wild turkey breast by thinning it up by filleting it. Made a marinade of balsamic vinegar, olive oil some rosemary Dijion mustard seasoning and S&P. Bagged up the turkey and marinade, let it get happy on the counter and started the charcoal. Charcoal white I put on it some pear wood I acquired from a dead tree. Meat in a basket and on the grill, I was amazed how moist it stayed. Pat built a big salad for each of us. Yes, there is a bunch of lettuce under here it got compressed by the meat. Skillet toasted some roasted garlic sourdough bread. We are full and happy,
  7. @Ryan Miloshewski, Nice pictures dude! Just bought a 20 bag of sugar. From the amount of hummers we have right now looking like it will be a pricey summer 🌞. I am going to keep track of what they cost us this season. Wildlife charity it's going to be.

Ha! She is pretty handy at things. She did the work and I assisted. One day when I get the shoulder replaced, we will trade places on ceiling fan work.

    What's Cooking?

Hit the big metropolis of Springfield today stocking up on stuff. Spied some ahi tuna steaks. Picked one out and butcher wrapped it up. Destination was a salad. Some S&P and seared. Sliced thin. Picked a butter crunch loose leaf head of lettuce out of garden. Pat put it all together. Dinner is served. Yummy,
  10. Whatever works for you is good. Turning once and awhile aireates it and distribution of the material Is helpful for breaking down.
  11. I can relate to this. One of my fondest memories as a kid growing up in California before movibg back here in my junior year of high school was sitting over a giant red or black and hill with a magnifying glass.
  12. Hey, it isn't just you man. I make a list before going to town. Then I sometimes do not get all on the list. My Dad got to that point and my neighbor friend did also. Rip to those two. Get those kids and grandkids to turn the compost each time one visits. Might grumble once or twice but bet they will do it. Composting is a good thing.
  13. Who is going to turn over compost every few days?

For sure. We have a front and back screened in porch. Standard ceiling fans. Every few months Pat goes up the ladder and takes the blades and brackets off. I turn blades over on bracket. Hand back up and she reinstalls.
  15. Outstanding fish Jim! Kudos for the catch.

  17. I have always liked fishing out of Orleans Trail. Good fishing really close to the ramp. Parking can suck on a busy day though.
  18. Great report and congrats on the Brooktrout success. Nice pictures to boot.

    What's Cooking?

We have and use a pizza stone. I'm sure anyway you do it will work. Sounds yummy. We will need to do it again. Just get your stone or pan hot and cornmeal it so the pizza will slide in it easy with the pizza peel.
  21. This is the way and may the fourth be with you guys too.
