  1. Interesting that Stockton was impounded in 1969. Hybrids started being stocked first in 2014 in Northwest Missouri Lakes. Just when in your conspiracy theories did that get contaminated with mutts? I fish there often but hey I have no idea whether they are pure or not?
  2. Thanks Ollie. Waist would get it off the trailer. Problem is the blow out mound of gravel out from the ramp where outboards are gunned getting boat on trailer.
  3. The Autum Olive comes to mind, and I planted those from the state nursery when they were selling those. Now get those Hybrid Striped Bass out of your noggin. I have yet to catch one of your Mutts. I think you have too much carb cleaner in your system.:)
  4. Here you go @ness and it's even from his home state. Did not know he started in Joplin.
  5. I seen this too this morning while walking down memory lane.
  6. Oh my gosh this brings up some memories. 😁 Met Virgil Ward below Truman dam fishing for crappie. I knew who I was looking at as I fished 20 yards down the bank. He would catch a fish and if legal keep it. Had a couple other guys with him. Pretty soon he threw out a snarl and I mean a good one. He fought it trying to get it out. Then I hear sonny, sonny come over here, turned my head and yep, he was calling for me. Went over and he said my eyes are not very good can you help me get this fixed. I did and he explained he was trying to get some crappie to fillet at a store event. Too funny Grandma always watched his shows and never missed any. She would always say she did not like him! HA. Second encounter with a guy was at Harrisonville Wal Mart. This guy was at a table and on each side was a display. One was fillet Knives and the other was Strong Heart canned dog food. Sure, enough there was Harold Ensley, and he was demonstrating his knife of choice filleting crappie. No one around he called me over and said watch this on how I fillet a fish and never touch the meat. He talked about his bird dog and how good the dog food was. Oh how I wish we had cell phones with cameras back then. Grandma watched him too but did not care for his hunting on some shows.
  7. I don't know about you all, but I could not wait to watch ESPN2 on Saturday morning every week. If I was out doing something the VCR was set up to tape a string of shows to be viewed later. The favorite of that morning was Spanish Fly. Jose Wejebe put on a good show, and I miss it to this day. His boat has been rescued and restored. Catching the Ocean View: Memorializing the Spanish Fly, a fishing legend - New Pelican His last show,
  8. Good job Ronnie, Thanks for putting this together.

    What's Cooking?

Looks good Randy, We made some sub/hoagie sammiches a couple weeks ago. Really tasty but half the goodies between the buns ended up on the plate. Might as well start on the plate and save the trouble.
  11. I really don't know why you, @Ham or @FishnDave do not have a blog or you tube channel.
  12. I knew I would eventually find our man @Johnsfolly YouTube channel. Here he is micro fishing!

    What's Cooking?

Good deal and thanks for the list and directions. Yum is right! Where can I get some of those beans?
  16. Purdy, Guess that old saying you have to get right back on that bike. I would be spooked. Congrats on the new ride Daryk.
  17. Bingo Randy .
  18. Keep them from hurting you I bet. Humane quick kill otherwise. Just guessing. Never caught a tuna.
  19. Don't ya know compared to other fish bass can be jerked into boats. Bounce around and left on deck. Then put in live well to be toted around all day. Culled if too small thrown back miles from their home. Starved for oxygen in a bag of little water with other fish. Then weighed a photographed and thrown back into lake. So fair is fair beat your catch in the head until submissive. It's a tough breed and will be ok. Measure and throw back. Easy Peasy. You can always blame the lack of bass to the few not ashamed to keep one or three for dinner. The rest throw them back afraid they will be humiliated for keeping a legal fish. You get the picture now?
  20. Pinch mouth shut and fold tail shut. Then shove to front of board. BUMP. Remember sinkers will not make your fish longer.
  21. Dutch is old, I knew him way before I knew anyone on here. 😀 He knows everything and can catch everything. @Quillback might be the only one I know that might out fish him! 🤣

  23. There is a guy I know that just retired from 3M. He trapped pigeons out of the parking lot. Brought them home and built a coop. Now with them breeding he has many. He trains his dogs with them. I stopped by his place and visited. He turns his birds out daily and they fly. Return as usual. He has to watch the hawks though. Locals have it figured out and he has watched his birds get taken out.
