No, it isn't. Been there done that. I have tried to stand on the head. They are powerful birds and those wings flapping around will beat you to death. I have grabbed the legs and got spurred on the wrists. At the same time those wings were again flapping, and I felt like a helicopter getting ready to take flight.

That is actually a thing of beauty. A quick end to the story.

Just three days left I almost let the season get past me. Later morning hunt. Worked a field with birds and they left. Picked another hay field. I only had a small site window straight out front. Heard a gobble and a pair of birds followed tight to the tree row towards me. When it appeared it was like in my face. Red dot sight placed at Base of head. That bird didn't even flop around. It was less than ten yards and it blew feathers out another ten yards. You can see in this picture the string of features blown beyond the bird, 17 1/2 pounds, 10 inch beard and 1 1/2 spurs. Still eating really well here. Pat is still baking sourdough once every two weeks. The jake she shot day before yesterday half the breast went to wild turkey enchiladas. Two meals of that so far the rest will be frozen, Today she cut up the other side and it was fried. So I give you fried wild turkey, foraged wild asparagus and a domestic baked potato from the trager pellet grill 😄. We will try to be better with the food posting. Just in case you all thought we were starving to death stop worrying. 😉

They do but spotters are still sent out but I am not sure who that is at the moment. County maybe? IO am sure @oneshot 1 can give us the scoop.

Another Reel recovery is in the books. A super group of participants. Good men dealing with cancer in various stages. This is time for them. Good fishing, fellowship with others dealing with the same situation. Men generally keep things to themselves and won't talk to others unlike the women Pat and I have assisted with. These guys come to this retreat quite but leave quite different. They are moved realizing that they are not alone in this battle. I have a few pictures and Pat has some also she will add. I didn't take as many as usual because we had a photographer that walked around and took pictures. So the first fishing day Kyle and I matched up and fished. He has fished some before and caught several. We discussed methods and worked on his casting. Very pleasant young man of 26 years. While Kyle and I fished we watched River buddy Matt Madura and partipent Eli fighting a fish. That afternoon I fished with participant David. Again another guy that has fly fished before. He brought his own fly rods and reels and flys he tied. He wanted to fish dries mostly. I carried his second rod. I felt like a caddy when I traded rods and netted fish. We talked about many things. We will keep in touch. He wants information on the Wyoming cutt slam Pat and I did. He and his wife want to make a trip and fit it in so he will get my notes on all of that.
