  1. Sucks man, Sorry Jeff, losing a good friend is missing part of yourself.
  2. Oh heck yeah. You can get all those on you tube also.
  3. Glad this was awakened again, At eleven Ish this morning got on you tube on the boob tube. Searched for 70s and 80s music videos and found a bunch. Let them play as Pat built puzzles and made lunch as I tied flys and was doing other things in the house. We used to watch Friday night videos each week and when we bought our first video tape player/recorder began taping them to watch other times. Ya see out in the country there was no cable, no MTV or anything like that. Of course there were favorite videos , Friday Night Videos - 1983.10.00 - Recording 1 of 3 - October 1983 : Dick Ebersol : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Part of Pat and I growing up together and not we are growing old together .
  4. Hey Basska, It is not just trout junkies out West. You should start looking over the forum posts on here for more on that information. Search for the @BilletHead Trips out west and also the trips posted by @Devan S.. Native Cutthroat in their native respective ranges. As a bonus other Native fish out west also. attainable goals for anyone wanting to put in the research and travel. Many other members on here have also made multiple trips West and can give you Insite for such things. As far as the question about the Genetics for the stocker cutts on the white river. I know the fine spot (snake river) has been stocked as well as the Bonniville. Other information on the Bonniville here, How volunteers changed the future of trout in Arkansas rivers | Whole Hog Sports Fun to catch out of range and accessible to those who do not travel. This being said never pass up a chance of going native where these species call home out West.
  5. We have had out pellet smoker for four years. Many recipes out there our favorite is Nikki Boxer, and we do the chipotle ketchup from this fry recipe to top off the meatloaf and slather the slices with. The fries aren't bad either but the star of this is the ketchup! Venison Meatloaf by Nikki Boxler Recipe | Traeger Grills Traeger Fries with Chipotle Ketchup | Traeger Grills
  6. And another thing about Caplinger mills. I was fishing there before Pat and I were married and that was well over 47 years ago. Lots of changes since then like in bank erosion. On the east side downstream, there was a road. Everyone would drive down that road including me. A steep cutbank formed there. It was closed when a guy drove too close to the edge, and it gave way and a chevy pickup went in the river. Luckly it was not a generation period. I had a 67 mustang right after we were married you could still drive across the bridge. Pat and I did just that and had a picnic in the park/conservation area that is now posted. If you were fishing on the bridge and someone drove across the bridge it was very scary that bridge would make all kinds of noises. I had two friends I fished with often. We would boat up to the island that is almost no longer there and anchor. Below that where the split river came back together was a deeper hole. With the river up and down due to generation there was a sweet spot in depth. If you timed it right walleye would be there. We hit it right and caught well. My friend Scotty said he was hungry. I called Pat on the giant Alltel cell phone and ordered lunch. We lived thirty miles away. She went through Eldorado Springs and got a couple pizzas at pizza hut then drove over to deliver. We motored over to the bank and grabbed the pies and right back to our spot. 😁 Good times and good memories.
  7. You can fish there. If you go downstream very far wear waders and stay in the water. Use caution and if you see water coming up get out. It can get downright dangerous during generation from Stockton. Like I have shared before Pat and I recovered a body there. @snagged in outlet 3 I thought in the video the poster said he was there in November? A passed OAF member and I flyfished there one November wading just below the dam. Spots and largemouth were stacked against the dam. We throwed streamers. I used a T&A in fire tiger and tore those fish up. We had a couple four pounders. It's really shallow but there are a couple scoured out holes tight against the dam. You can walk right to them but that last step is a doo zee. It is slick as snot wading out there. Back then we had nothing but felt soles and it was the best on snot. Pick wading times to do that because if there is anyone on the bridge fishing towards the dam it is worse than being in a boat downstream.
  8. Good idea, I think I will spend some time at the vice this morning. When it warms up some I need to go to town for more pellets for the pellet stove. It's eating them up. VID_20250120_095644577.mp4
  9. We bottomed out at 4 here. A buddy of mine in the Herman area had 0.
  10. I have something we all should do today, Get yourself a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Go outside and take a deep breath and exhale it into the jar, quickly put the lid back on the jar. Put this jar in the freezer. This summer when you go fishing or any outdoor activity when it is sweltering hot and humid take this jar out and put it in your cooler. When you are so uncomfortable and think you will pass out from the heat get that jar out and open it. Instead of inhaling the contents all at once put a straw into it and take tiny hits so it lasts longer. Take time to think about the day you filled the jar, a chill will run through your body. 😉

    What's Cooking?

Well I have some pictures for yesterday's meal. Something we haven't eaten in three months. Split a ribeye steak. From Sam's club. Thin streaks of marbling throughout the meat. Sides of smashed potatoes and Cesar salad with homemade creamy dressing. There is something to be said even though not the healthiest thing to put into your system about taking a bite of red meat and the silky fat melting in your mouth. Feeling kinda guilty it was a two pack and the other was rubbed with seasoning vac sealed and frozen. I think we will wait and three months before we cook it. VID_20250118_125025832.mp4

Thumbs up on gizzards. The only thing livers are good for is the part of dirty part in dirty rice the rest of the dirty is hearts and gizzards. We are talking fowl parts. There is no place in our life for mammal livers of any sort. We do like deer heart.
  23. I have you some Jim. Not a bunch but some none the less.
  24. Welcome back, Maybe our paths will cross on the water someday.
