  1. Well we have another trip West under our belt. A plan had been hatched for this trip. We wanted to catch three fish for our bucket list and maybe a bonus catch too. All native, not planted and native to Montana. This is going to be photo heavy and in installments on this thread/post. Please bear with me as it will take some time as I am slow and low tec. A long drive and we covered 4500 miles to and from and around. We will start with the trip out and our first stop. Our farthest destination would be the Yaak Valley in North West Montana but we will make a fishing stop on the way to that spot. We left out at 3AM on July 30th. Made it to Rapid City South Dakota. Been Texting to Ness on and off as we were heading out and he was on his trip and on his way home. I think at one time we were not too far off in miles of each other. We had been ribbing each other about going by Sturgis and who would be getting a tattoo and we decided Mrs. BilletHead should get one. Well she did not but instead got herself branded of sorts. More on this later in another post . So where in the heck has this OA member been? Ignore the dates on the photos as I messed with some of the timelines. So our first fishing stop was along the Yellowstone river in the Paradise Valley area. I am sure we might of passed Al Agnew somewhere out there. We could not get a camp spot at the KOA on a Friday Night so we trucked up the Mill Creek road for that night and got some fishing in. We caught some Yellowstone cutthroat there. Not on our list as we have been there done that before. Sadie doing what she does best, Some food photos will be added from time to time too. Braised deer stew and Garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes, bread and herb butter, More trip coming up, BilletHead
  2. Running bear love little white dove or is it running bear turning into little white dove? BilletHead
  3. Does this work for me? Dog tired in the middle of Nebraska heading home. billethead
  4. There is something about camping in and around where you want to be like you said Ness. The pickup camper we have suits the purpose quite nice. We have our own same bed every night and kitchen facilities though small fit the bill nicely. Not enough room for a good fight in here but we rest well . We can be on the water in minutes instead of hours. Most expensive private camping has been 40 bucks a night for full hook ups which we do not need. Public hook ups electric and water 10 bucks to no hook ups for 3 and a half bucks. Pretty cheap we think., BilletHead
  5. Well Bob the big boy is sill watching over the valley, BilletHead Oh by the way when we buzzed through Yellowstone Park from point "A to point B" we learned that a couple days before a hiker had been found to be killed by a grizzly and partially eaten and cached for a later meal. We also fished a lake near Cody yesterday morning where at the parking spot had a sign saying there had been grizzly human conflicts in the past. While walking into the lake we smelled death like a carcass or something. Sure enough there was a cow carcass pretty much wasted away and dried up. A cold chill came over me. On the way out of that lake we ran into another couple coming in. They told us they had talked to a local rancher that had lost a cow in a different spot and had seen three bear on that carcass, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Really hard to get too excited about cooking right now. Canned some tomatoes over the weekend and that sure warmed up the house as if it needed that. Did stuff more peppers cooked them outside in the smoker. Even baked potatoes outside in the gas grill. BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

On a diet? We had fried wild turkey, fried squash, fresh corn cut off the cob and sliced tomatoes. Other than the fried part good for us. Canola oil does that helped the fried part? Did smoke a couple pounds of chili and jalapeno peppers too for future dishes. BilletHead
  18. Looks great Lancer! Will be ready for your report. Be safe friend, BilletHead
  19. Yep what Mopanfisher said. Have had great luck with lettuce. Did last season, planted third week of August in raised beds and ate it all winter, BilletHead
  20. Life looks pretty good there in OneShotville. Doing it yourself instead of relying on others, BilletHead
  21. Amery I cannot imagine what you are going through. Like Daryk I have nothing to give except a prayer. Bless you and those children. We are not supposed to be given more than we can handle. You have my greatest respect for what you are doing, BilletHead

  24. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONnylpTDNpw Be nice now they want some bass to eat, BilletHead
  25. Oh boy Wrench is going all X-files on us We know he won't be packing heat to protect himself but I think he needs a frigging laser to shoot those UFO (unidentified FALLING objects) out of the sky. Blow them into space dust to fall harmlessly back to earth. There is one of those eggs now on the bottom of that pond like on under the dome . ^^^^^^^ closest thing to an alien I could find on here!
