  2. Not white cats, untwist your guts Dave.
  3. Well Keith this can go smooth like my friends above said. Or it can me a nightmare depending on the DMV you are working with. I have horror stories about the nightmare part but finally got it straightened out. One thing It took me to figure out finally is first of all call the state DMV and talk to one of the workers there. IMO the contract local DMV places are scared to death to make a mistake and are gun shy making a decision. Call the state and tell them what you have going on. I have worked with two there on two different deals and all went well including a visit from a Highway patrolman to look over a flatbottom boat that never had taxes paid on at purchase many, many years ago since it went directly to a farm pond and never went to state waters and never had a motor on it. Was a form I had to get the seller to fill in a couple places and sign. Patrolman ran the vin number and checked out the boat to make sure what I had was correct on the form. He signed it and I mailed all I needed to the State DMV bypassing the local DMV. That was even suggested by the State. Quick turnaround and no hassle from the local ladies. For a few years we had the Gestapo running our local office. Not anymore. The new regime is really nice and can get proper answers for us. Fair but doing it the right way. If you decide to buy just give the state a call for advice first. Might save you some time and headache friend.
  4. Come on men, Let's not get this shut down. I understand both of you. This boils down to health care and might help someone here.
  5. We have been seeing a few cinnabar chanterelles showing up underneath the chestnut trees. I am thinking that the chanterelle harvest should be really good here this year and start showing up any day now. After two years of drought and no summer fungi we are so ready to get back into the game. Just got a new book. Yea I know lots of information out on the world wide web but I like books and reading. Two chanterelle recipes I'm very interested in trying. Chantrell jam and candied chanterelles. Huh you say? For those of you who don't know chanterelles have a fruity aroma like apricot so we will give it a go. Good luck summer foragers!
  6. Welcome Jeff, We already have a Jeff ( @Quillback ) here but very knowledgeable on the waters you inhabit. We welcome you though. Dang it The other Jeff beat me to it. Curses foiled again. He can set you straight!
  7. Must keep my mouth shut, must keep my mouth shut, must keep my mouth shut. 🤣
  8. You are very correct about both Trial Lake and Washington lake campgrounds. Very busy and both are water catchment lakes that are for supplying water to the upper Provo River. The two years we were there one-year Trial Lake was drained to almost nothing and the other year Washington lake was the same way. Quite a bit of pressure. Stocked by truck. Fish turnover is high with catch and keep fish are smaller. One thing about walking in we seen no fishermen in Star Lake and no fishermen on Cliff Lake either. Cliff Lake is close to Star with Star being a larger lake. These lakes are stocked by aircraft and fish survive and get much larger in both. One thing about Cliff Lake we caught both tigers and cutthroat, while just Tigers and Brook trout in Star. Devin you guys are going to have some fun out there. Will be neat to read your reports. Looking forward to it.
  9. The only difference between small and reasonable is how deep they are buried. Or so I was told.
  10. I have a list, Randy! 😃Thanks
  11. While we know you have a limited time and goals, here is an interesting drive in the high Uinta's Called the mirror lake scenic byway. The lakes are very well stocked with tiger trout. This is where we caught many. Walked into a lake called Star Lake. There is a trail running out of Trial Lake campground. Not too bad of a hike for us in 2017. I am sure if we go again that walk would be harder. You two young bucks would be a piece of cake. Caught a bunch up there. Have hiked in twice. Once just fished what would be the dam. The drainage below has brookies. Second time took lunch and a plan to walk around the whole lake. We did but sure were worn to a frazzle. You have your itinerary figured up, great planning right off the bat. I will attach where we caught our slam fish in case you change travel plans.
  12. Hey I would feel the same about you if God forbid you end up in that predicament Rick. I know you though so maybe twice as much 😉.
  13. Oneshot you aren't a zero you are our Hero! You do know many of us are rooting for you in the predicament you are in.
  14. It's simply a brain fart. Very common deal over my way.

Happy anniversary! @ness and Mrs. Ness!
  18. Good fortune and trip report for you and Susie. Well done Jeff! Good things happen to good people.
  19. Depending on your trip north if you are going up 189/191 along the hoback river towards Jackson hole there is a smaller creek called Cliff Creek. It dumps into the hoback. I know from our trips in the beginning of August it's not very big water wise but it's full of finespot/snake river cutts. Get this we both caught whitefish in this creek. You ought to try this one on the way by. Just some more FYI Devin.
  20. AH yes Devin, Montana says that the native challenge is too much like a derby and don't want the state to go that way. Yes very specific stocked lakes for the native challenge. It sucks so can't help you there but can give you places for just catching the Yellowstone and then way north for the west slope. We crossed the decide on the forest service road to fish upper la barge for the Colorado River cutt. Pretty drive across the pass. Expect some crappy roads, lots of sheep and sheepherders with their camps. We blanked on la Barge but that was in 2010 just after they poisoned that creek to kill non-native fish then restocked it. I will be interested on how it's recovered and how you do there. We found another place cottonwood Creek north west of Pinedale. I will have Pat help me find my maps for better information. If you go for your Bonneville in salt Creek not far from there is salt river. It was a very fun place for the snake river fish. There is a forest camping in that area too. One improved and lots of open camping in other places. Like I said will help you anyway we can.
  21. I have some places on all three states. Includes two streams in Montana just north of the park for your jumping into Montana. I assume you have your cut locations picked out for those states?
