I have seen several hunting shows featuring crow including Meat Eater, the sporting chef and dead meat. Search the web for many recipes. My Grandma Gentry said they ate chicken hawk, crow and other things most would not thing was palatable although anything was consumed in hard times. She did say chicken hawk was very good.

Pat and I all the way to the western side of the cascades in Oregon for coastal cutthroat. Let's call it the continental united states and driving. Sooooooo do I win? I know @Quillback lived out there and caught many species but did he drive there? I would have to get a compass and draw a circle but think out of all the fish namely cutthroat this is the farthest we have driven. Like this thread.

Very nice Steve and thanks for the report, good times and good friends in fellowship is what it's all about. And just for your info I don't care how many legal bass you eat. 😃. -
Thank you, ladies, and gentlemen for you service to our country. The BilletHead's really appreciate it. Ditto to the civil servants that are unlisted but support the Vets.

Wow Randy hate to hear that you got that sick. You never know what goes on in some food establishments. We don't go out much, but I am pretty anal when it comes to cleanliness where we go and have been known to walk out when getting unclean utensils and plating. Even looking at wilted brown lettuce on salad bars or salad brought to table turn my belly. Same thing watching others with the way they take care of the game they harvest. No way would I eat that.

I have it on dish recorded. Looks like the weather is going to turn over the weekend so I will watch it later. -

Love me some Greenwings, Middle zone. We did not go on the opener. Been a long time since we missed it. So Sunday we went to the little pond in the timber bottoms and set up the invisablinds out in the mud flat along a long tapering shore. Threw out some decoys. Birds all over flying it really surprised us. Did not fore a shot. Greenwings in and out fast and only one wood duck pass by. The greenies did pitch in way wide. Had some bigger ducks give a look but most high and going places. We had a good time just watching. It is a good place but way down from the drought and not very appealing. I went back solo this morning and sat in the brush more on the old dam side. Made a quick sparse blind of sorts. More shooting in the distance today compared to yesterday and less birds but the Greenwings worked as they do a quick pass diving in from treetops then gone or one or two serious passes with some landing. Still wanting to land wide I shot my limit. Done early I really brushed up the hide good before I left. Think I will go again in the morning. Do some tweaking to the decoy placement and try to get birds in my face. The birds were really fat as Greenwings generally are. A couple were packed with what looked like millet seeds and what I think were water fleas. So, I am on the board with six birds. Don't expect a good season unless we get lots of rain to fill my bread-and-butter farm ponds.

Mid-day snack. VID_20221107_122907909.mp4 A couple nice greenwing teal separated breast halves. Nice bit of fat rendered and retained. Will be doing a couple crispy edged over easy eggs later in there .

I have been attaching video clips taken on my phone to my posts from phone and laptop with no problem. Well today have been trying and now it will not let me attach to post. Says more than 2MB and takes them off. What gives? The only thing different on my side is that I have just went big time and our local electric rural coop has provided use of their poles to carry fiber optic so now have super speedy data transfer.

Here too Jeff. watched a bunch while hunting this morning. Goose season opens this Friday. Never had much luck getting any of them early in the season but have just before season ends as they head back north.

Team Jesters! Love it!

It should be a requirement for kids to learn to honing stones and diamond hones with leather strop. Then graduate to a work sharp system. You will be very happy John with a gift like that.

YEA!

I believe that. It is a good tool.

I'm telling you this thing is the bomb man. I can do and have done for years on stone and diamond hones to scalpel sharp but it's a slow process. This deal is quick just follow the directions and take your time until you get it figured out. First grit sets the new angle that you will maintain for all the time you use this tool. Enjoy! There used to be a guy at the local city farmers market and would sharpen knives for folks while they shopped. He always had a bunch each week to sharpen. I know he was making some good money doing it.

The tacos are actually fajitas. I used thin sliced Canada goose which has ground Montreal seasoning and ground cumin. I have what I call a Holy Wok. It is a carbon steel wok that I drilled holes in. Use it over charcoal and wood fire. Cooks great and holes let the meat get smoky. Today I used sherry wood scraps from wood lathe work. Do the meat until barely browned, remove meat then sliced peppers of any type and sliced onions. both meat and veggies light coat of olive oil. After veggies are done like you want add meat back for a few seconds. Fold mix in warmed flour tortilla with sour cream and cheese, Hot sauce of your choice or none at all. Chow down. The stuffed peppers are big, halved jalapenos filled with cream cheese and sharp cheddar cheese. Topped with bacon slice and put under broiler in oven. I present one of the neatest deals! The Holy Wok. 😉
