Yea I figured that and wouldn't want to tangle with Peggy guarding the stash. Plus, I know she would not want to trade for squirrel. Maybe some deer? Dang you have that also 🤣

Something new to us today, While at my mother's Christmas party in the assisted living facility we were fed lunch (finger food). Dessert was something new. Guess I live a sheltered life because never had it :). Upside down pecan cake! Really good and the worker there had made it said we Will be getting her recipe. Back home I could not get this out of my mind and googled it up. Oh, good grief lots of recipes out there and Pat picked one. Let's see no cake mix or corn syrup. Cake no problem she can whip one up from scratch easy peasy. Syrup well let's see have some golden syrup. More google and actually other than candy making it is actually preferred by some for-baking applications. I added another spin to be revealed later. So built and into the oven it went in and then out, Cooling for ten minutes I added my spin. BACON! So, with some knife work and another skillet bacon bits were made. Nothing wrong with sweet and savory and I am betting most of you if not all have had pancakes and bacon and dipped your bacon on purpose or by accident into the syrup. Good, isn't it? Now ready for the flip and reveal. Hot job but Pat got it done, Now sprinkle on the bacon . Cut and time to try. DANG, I see breakfast in the morning, yeah. I have decided I now prefer this over pecan pie. Not as sweet IMO plus it has bacon.

Funny, Reminds me of something. Birds seem to not be affected by spicy tastes. We were bow hunting elk many years ago when I could. Back packing in. Some of us were using MRE meals. Besides crackers in them all came with tiny bottles of tobasco. Camp jays were all over and would come within a foot looking for a handout. We gave them crackers. Then amounts of the hot sauce to see what effect would happen. Finally, completely soaking a piece of cracker. No problem downing it quickly. Now mammals like Squirrell and racoons do not like the heat. You can get pepper powder to mix with bird seed. Birds eat it and coons and squirrel will not. Wonder what the fish will taste? Good luck Oneshot! We want to know if trout are pepper bellies .

Today it was meat loaf but let's go back a few days first, I hauled three cows to a meat processor a week ago for a farmer friend. Half of one of them is being done for us. Will be our first large purchase of beef. Kind of excited. So, we also have been talking about getting a pellet smoker grill also because of this mega meat purchase. Looked at some on amazon but did not get too excited about it. then last Thursday a trip for stuff in Springfield. Went to Bass Pro for a bit and Pat wanted to go to the outlet. I opted not to do the outlet and just enjoyed the nice day and waited outside. A bit later Pat popped outside and said you need to come in here. I go in and follow her to a big box on the floor. Look here! There was a Trager pellet grill. Hole in the side of the box. Half price. I find a worker and aske a few questions. I had already peeked inside the hole and could.t see any damage. She said they could not find any either and if purchased we could bring it back within 60 days if not happy. A couple other people were now watching. She said just put on the floor and could not believe it wasn't gone already. Sold I said I like half price! unboxed and assembled it. Easy Peasy, Teh 700-dollar dent and only viewable at an angle, Got some pellets and seasoned it. Today I tackled a meat loaf, Pretty neat tool for cooking, Possibilities out the wazoo. Kind of high tec too but all that stuff I suppose this old dog can learn in time. BTW meat loaf was goooooood.
