  1. Good thinking. Very possible!
  2. I thought that spot pattern looked the same as that previous one. Hope to get in on the action Sunday and maybe Monday.
  3. Ah we've been calling it the Taneycomo shuffle. Full disclosure, I took a group down one time and it was my Dad's 1st Taney trip. I look over and there he is doing the shuffle about 40 yards upstream. My buddy and I had a fun time watching and laughing at him. Don't worry, I gave him his fair share of crap about it.
  4. That's what I was thinking too on the $/lb at the store.
  5. Nice job. My Dad had a 30+ LB on the Little Niangua also released to make some babies.
  6. Quillback, I agree. For a guy willing to spend the money to come up from Texas, and the paltry threat of a $300 fine, he will be back next week as odds have it he won't be stopped ever again. And why let the daughter-in-law off with a warning? I'm really tired of people playing dumb to try and get off with a warning. Just like any other crime, if you make the fines stiff and actually enforce them, it'll cut way down on this BS. They should ban this guy from being able to get Missouri fishing or hunting license.
  7. Thanks for the reports guys. My Dad had a 14" and 15" off the dock in 3-4 FOW. Only 3 keepers total, but I think that has to do with the shallow water dock not holding the numbers, but it tells us there are some shallow right now.
  8. let us know how it goes.
  9. Plug. I'll be down next weekend on the Osage where the hybrids are supposed to be good, but haven't found one yet. Do you mind telling me target depth? I know they can be pretty deep in the summer, but wondering if they're up shallow yet chasing shad.
  10. David, your arsenal sounds pretty good to me. I'll be way up the osage next weekend which seems to fish different than the Niangua the past couple falls that I've fished there. For me, Soft plastics have beat out the buzz baits, cranks, and A-rigs the last couple of years surprisingly. Let me know how it went for you.
  11. I'm sorry to hear that since that is going to crowd up that end of the lake for me for our annual LOZ trip to that area.
  12. i bet he had so much adrenaline that the water didn't even feel cold!!!!
  13. Glad to hear your seeing some big whites and hybrids blowing up on the surface. I'll be up that way the weekend of the BBB in October, unfortunately as I'm not a fan of crowds on the water. We're around 9 miles below Truman and I've been hoping to hook into a big hybrid or two as we make this a bit of an annual fall fishing trip, but haven't found any big ones up that way yet. As of a week ago, I hear a buzz bait has been doing well in the evenings.
  14. Thanks for the post! I could be wrong, but not thinking those fat rock bass are full of spawn. must just be gorging themselves on something. I've seen trout look almost that fat and ended up they were full of corn. I've heard some fish struggle passing corn. who knows.
  15. looks like fun!!!!!!! Thanks for the report.
  16. Thanks for that report! Headed to the niangua this weekend. May have to find a way to take an extra day.
  17. Thanks Wrench! Should I be looking at Amp hours on a starter/crank battery? I'll probably be giving you a call on some work I need done, but hoping to just be replacing the battery to get me fishing here in the next couple weeks and then mid-summer may be looking into my more major stuff like my power trim.
  18. My current starter battery is a 24MS Duralast with 700 CCA (850 amps) for an 88' 150 Mariner. I'd like to replace it with identical battery but I'm having a tough time finding a starter battery with 700 CCA. Thoughts? Would 675 CCA be adequate or should I go up to 750 CCA?
  19. Thanks for the report. Glad you got some!
  20. Good luck in the tourney Pete! Especially since I won't be able to make it. You know all about those 17 lb. browns
  21. Bill I think we saw you go by with a boat full of guys. Were you in the center console?
  22. I assume you were in the trophy area?
  23. Decent chance that your screen shot is showing a crappie schooI.....
  24. Thanks for the post. Have you been trolling or casting for them?
  25. You've created a happy fly fishing cardinals fan. Looks like you've done your job!
