  1. Sign me up when you invent one until then I usually have the trolling motor set at the slowest speed that lets me creep along
  2. I'm sorry F&F, I have ate and enjoyed walleye prepared a lot of ways but I don't believe anything has ever improved on deep fried with sliced potatoes onion rings in the same pot, beans, hush puppies, cole slaw, pickled green tomatoes. All on that shore lunch island about a mile north of Jery and Ellie's camp on Cedar Lake.........actually it's pretty darn good in the back yard at home. Oops forgot breading or batter of choice on the walleye and onion rings.
  3. I like to wade below Shelving Rock when the river level gets to 3 foot on the Boaz gauge look for the usual big rocks underwater root wads and logs in the water usual lures 4' worm 4''grubs on 1/32oz jigs with a 1/0 to # 2 hook small crankbait buzzbait and topwater. Learn to read the water and you can do well there
  4. I actually though the next "reality" show would be would be something with the word Meth in the title
  5. I forgot ,do they have bigfoot or the Piasa Bird.
  6. I liked that the guy said it wasn't one of his...... when we had open range in MO if you hit a cow everyone claimed it was theirs ....when we did away with open range nobody owns them critters. I also think he could have called in proper wildlife agency but.........
  7. F&F, millions, really?
  8. LOL I went by there yesterday also, I wonder why? Except for Zoom and a few other brands they are thin on baits I've been there 3 times since they opened and other than a St Louis Cardinals can cozie I couldn't find anything to buy...........Maybe around Xmas. I saw those wading boots and I wondered how they would hold up also.
  9. Al, you're starting to sound like a grumpy old man..........like me.......Seriously I have to wonder what it will be like in the future and will our outdoor resources be able to handle the people trying to crowd into the available waters? I think F&F is at least partly right. When I first went to NW Ontario and fished Cedar Lake above Vermillion Bay, Ontario there were very few boats on the water and we were unusual because we fished for smallmouth and probably 3/4 of the people targeted Walleye, Northern Pike or Muskie and considered Smallmouth a trash fish. Within the next 20 years US Highways going north turned into mostly Interstates at least up into Minnesota and the roads from Int Falls up into Ontario were improved and you were more likely to see bass boats pulled from as far away as Texas crossing the border. And now a lot of TV shows in the Midwest film a lot of Canadian fishing trips.People see that, go fish up north in early June come home and head to the rivers for Smallmouth. I don't know the answer but as the population grows everything gets overcrowded and ethics seems to take a back set the days of stream fishing as we know it may be gone.
  10. Good luck, have fun and say hello to the whales for me..........
  11. With you one shot
  12. Bad back will not allow me to fish this year ..BUT.. last year had good days with Gulp Alive crawlers on slow death spinner rigs.
  13. joeD, yeah to bad he wasn't around in June of 1944 to let the world know the lying Allied troops were really going to invade at Normandy rather than at Calais where Hitler thought we were and moved a major number of Nazi troops away from Normandy.
  14. Smalliebigs,Chief asked you a question...........we're waiting.
  15. Duct tape buzz baits to your radio antenna or your outside rear view mirror for a week or two until you get the right squeak. Lunker lures always seemed to be the easiest to get a better squeak...........also seemed to catch more fish...........the squeaking buzz bait catches the most fish..
  16. This is a really good ball club They are one of the few teams that play the game right. I believe George Kissell would be proud of this team.I have seen very few teams lose players to injuries and just keep playing well
  17. You live and learn and laugh about it later on. The dumbest thing I ever did was try to launch the boat without removing the ty down straps.......at a club tournament in front of all the members.
  18. I'd add the largest size Redfin might also be a good idea
  19. The only way you would see me doing that would......nah even that would not get me to do dat....how was the Gumbo?
  20. Not that much further the upper Big Piney from Simmons Ford south of Houston we used to float down to Dogs Bluff when high water made it too fast below Dogs Buff. I think you can still camp there. If not or if too early the right side bank below Brushy Creek hole down through Horseshoe Bend is all LAD state walk in forest just above Mineral Springs ramp. Below there you're on your own. You might call the MDC to find out how high the water is there. That stretch of river above Baptist Camp is usually only floatable when the river is up.
  21. You might want to Google recent stories about Asian Carp in the Mississippi watershed and the state of Illinois looking into closing the shipping canals between the rivers and Lake Michigan
