I have been using them for a long time. I’m on my third one. I have tried all kind of fruit and vegetables. I never liked any of them except apples. They are superb for making jerky.
I have an 870 Special Field in 12 ga. When you get ready let me know and I will bring it up and you can try it out and see if that size works for you. It was my go to for dove hunting now it is just a man stopper.
For flooded cell batteries the most important thing for me is reserve capacity (RC). I always looked for 200 minutes or more for a 24 volt trolling motor.
Wrench I don’t know anything about the engine needs but I do know that today’s high def electronics consume a lot of juice. A regular cranking battery has little chance of keeping them going all day. I agree with you that a house battery for electronics isn't a bad option if one has room for it and a decent way of charging it.
Vernon I was running a similar rig (250 Verado with 3 Lowrance units). I went through 2 different techs and some rewiring and 3 batteries. I had voltage issues until I got the X2 battery from batteries + bulbs. It is 1150 cca with 225 rc. It is very similar to the old Sears PM1 that I used in my old Champion. I am very happy with it.
Thanks for the insights. It turns out to be a mute point. The best deal I could find was going to hit me for $10,000 per year depreciation. I’ve only got 22000 miles on my truck so I’m going to pass on a new one and keep on keeping on.
Carry extension cords. Around lakes many motels have outside plugins. No way I would remove my batteries. I carry 5 and would have no way to charge them.
You will need to know if they have a power cord for that unit before you take it in.
Why don’t you delete the wpts from your unit. Then reload the files that you want back on to it?
I don’t know. Most of my trips are 100-150 miles round trip. I like to try for 100 days a year but that may drop since I sold the camper. I’m pretty sure it will be over 50 plus towing my flat bed trailer and some farm stuff.
I totally understand. I have had the big trucks pulling my 5th wheeler from South Texas to Canada and points in between. But I’ve been doing it for 20 years and am getting tired of the big trucks. I’m ready for a 1/2 ton but want it to pull the boat satisfactorily.
What I am looking at has a 10 speed transmission. I am color specific and all of them in this area have the 3.23. I may just have to keep my F250 even though I don’t need that much truck since I sold my 5th wheeler
I am looking at getting a different truck to tow my boat. I have only had 3/4 ton trucks with 6 litre or diesel engines. I am looking at 1/2 tons with 5 litre engines and am being told that a 3.23 rear end will do fine on our Ozarks terrain. My rig weighs somewhere north of 4500 lbs. Will it or is somebody blowing smoke?
