I caught 3 smallmouth. That’s the first time I’ve caught any in the James in over 3 years.

Stockton kicks my butt until Mid March. That’s why I go to Cape in the winter.

I took my neighbor to Cape Fair today. We fished from 9-3. We fished from Angler’s Bend to Carr’s. Crank baits, spinner baits, Ned and Shaky. 1 on a spinnerbait, 1 on a Ned, none on cranks. We used Alabama craw, California craw, New money, June bug, The deal, and coppertreuse. Coppertruse once again was the best. The best fish of the day was a 3 1/2# smallmouth.

Ours here in Republic didn’t get the fishing stuff until after the buyout. I talked to one guy who has been there for years about coming changes. His opinion was it will be years before the sign even changes if ever.

Marty I spent quite a while trying to find his handle so I could send him a pm but couldn’t. I didn’t think to check that massive food thread as I rarely look at it.

A while ago he mentioned building rods. I would like to check on a rod. I have a custom that is better than any other that I own. My rod guy is retiring and I would like to have another one built. I can’t figure out how to contact him.

I put Millineum seats in my boat. Last time out my butt got cold from the wind going through the mesh. So I have been looking for something that I can sit on until the weather warms. I did a lot of looking in Springfield this morning and came up with a Mossy Oak foam cushion at the Wal Mart on S Campbell. They had been about $6 but they were marked down to $1.79 so I took a hand full. If any of you get cold butts Wal Mart seems to be getting rid of them.

As I was coming into the Cape Fair Marina cove I saw a guy sitting up high in a floating contraption. It was lime green and had a seat in front of him with no trolling motor. As we got closer I could tell that it was an air boat. He was powering it with a stern mounted trolling motor. He came out of the cove and turned up stream. About the time we were at the courtesy he fired it up. It sounded like a small jet. I’m guessing that dude got lost on his way to the Everglades. He probably got his Capes mixed up. I wish I had taken a pic.
