County roads in rural Counties are privately owed with a "right of way". You would be parking on private property that is taxed by the County and paid by the land owner. Your right of way does not give you any rights to park. collect wood, mushroom hunt. You just have the right to travel the road. I have a spot on a branch of the Meramec in Dent Co. and have to call a lot to keep folks from parking and swimming.

We split our hives this week. Today I got a swarm at the court house square in Salem. That gets me to 5 hives. We got 2 1/2 gals of honey last June but we left full supers for the winter and they used it all to survive. It's looking good so far this year.

Might need the bushel baskets in the next few days!

Found these buets in Northern Shannon County today. Tomorrow will be even better.

Akers Ferry Expected to be Closed until Mid-June Van Buren, MO – Akers Ferry, located at Akers on the upper Current River, is expected to be closed until mid-June. Akers Ferry provides a Current River crossing on State Route K in northern Shannon County. Recent flooding in the area resulted in a substantial deposit of gravel in the river channel, preventing the ferry from crossing the Current River. Due to fish spawning season, the National Park Service is prohibited from removing gravel from the river from March 15 to June 15. Gravel removal will be completed as soon as possible after June 15.
