roy_eros Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well they are in town again. What do you guys think is going to be the story this year? My impression is the lake is quite a bit stingier this spring compared to last year.
Ron Burgundy Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Cool I didn't know they were coming back this yr. Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford
mixermarkb Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 The fish are there. I think the pros will have some 20 pound bags for sure. It won't be the same crankbait bite it was last year. The lake is very clear, and we are mainly pre-spawn, so I don't think it will be a sight fishing derby. It will be fun to watch, but there are too many good fisherman in the elites, someone will figure them out. My money is on Palanuik and Evers. I'd love to see Palanuik repeat, and Edwin Evers is a really consistent fisherman, who is due a win.
mixermarkb Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 The weather is going to make things interesting. Looks like active weather for practice, with clouds and maybe rain. Tourney right now is looking like post front high skies, we all know how Bull fishes on high skies days. Watching the pros make the adjustment and seeing who is able to stay on fish they find as the weather changes will be interesting!
Ham Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 They're going to whack em. It will be tougher than last year, but they'll almost all get limits..they run all over the lake and find some off color water especially if we get some of that rain they are predicting. I'd bet some guys are able to do some sight fishing. They'll be Topwater fish and jerkbait fish. Crankbait fish and jig fish. Ought be a fun show. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. crazy4fishin Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 This should be a good one and I agree that Evers could have a real chance...I am able to Marshall this year - I have been watching the weather and I am bringing down my cold gear as the ride one the water might be a touch cool first thing in the a.m. C4F Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker
roy_eros Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 The lake is setting up to fish much smaller than it did last year, I also don't think you will hear many reports of catching 50+ keepers a day as we did last year.

Would you mind elaborating on this some? My wife and I are going to be there to watch the last day of the elites and then staying the whole week after. It will be our first time ever on Bull Shoals so any help getting us started in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
Bill Babler Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Does anyone know if Jason Christie is fishing? He just won at Beaver, don't know if it was on an A-Rig, but there is still a stickbait bite going and he will be all over that deal if he is indeed fishing. He seems to be on a real roll. There will be some site fishing this year, and there will be boys running to color. CPA locals did not do well on their derby this weekend and it took under 30 for a two day deal, so this could be a little tougher than expected. I believe the bed fish will be there and these pro's are great at that, so we will see. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Last year the lake had better color and the field was spread out well. More than likely most of these guys will be looking for the water will some color and therefore bunching them up in the same areas. Probly be alot runing up river past lead hill and maybe up theodosia arm. Im marshall thursday and friday and possible camera boat sunday. Really looking forward to see how they do this year. Im sure a few will find some good fish but no doubt it will be a different deal than last year.
