Feathers and Fins Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Champ; it seems you have a grudge against Bass Pro Shops for whatever reason. I am curious is it because they (a) do not support tournaments the way you think they should or ( because their products are inferior? By "their" im referring to BPS name products. Or is it something else? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Bill Babler Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Guys, lets close down the BPS stuff on this thread. If you want to talk about anything Bass Pro, please start a new one or for now lets get on with the fishing. I think it has already been said some of us do not shop there to much and some do. It's great to be an American and have a choice. Good luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members Kenny Gann Posted May 3, 2013 Members Posted May 3, 2013 Been reading this post for 3 days now and I agree with Bill and others on living in America where u have a choice. I applaud the fact that all these guys have a opinion and even tho some disagree they still respect your opinion, unlike muslims who kill people for not beleiving there way. Its great to have God and country with people who get along no matter their opinion. Fish Fish Fish thats what we do.
bobw Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Central Pro Am died when Ernie passed away. Say what you want about Ernie Daughtery but he MADE the Pro Am go. The econmy is another factor that has basicly killed all of the tournament circuts. Midwest Outdoors, Heartland, even the benifit buddy tornaments don't draw like they used too, the Hospice, (I don't think they havea any more) the Trooper Tournament, and on and on. These all use to draw a 100 boats. The sponsers are not there like they used to be. They have all gone to the National Circuts, BASS, FLW and PAA. I really don't think anything is going to bring our local tournaments back to where they were in the 80's and 90's. Speaking of boats, last August I purchased a new boat. I looked at The Nitro Z7 and the Skeeter TZX190. I went to Bass Pro twice to try and get a demo ride in a Z7, both times I was told they didn't give demo rides, if I wanted to ride in one I could go to Big Ceday adn rent one for 1/2 a day. I bought the Skeeter! Sports Boats was only too happy to meet me at the lake. The boat had a full tank of gas and the guy from Sports Boat said to run it all out if I wanted to, they wanted to make sure I was happy with the boat. Honestly, I have been told several times I made the right decission. The Skeeter is a way better boat. Hey I buy a lot of stuf at Bass Pro, you don't generally have to worry about not having what you want, just go in get it get out, like someone said, the Wal-Mart of bass fishing.
bobw Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Dang, forgot what the topic was, I have 4 of the Lew's bait casters and 1 of their spinning reels. Great products. Purchased 3 of the bait casters at the Classic Show in Tulsa, they had some pretty good deals there, haven't regreted the purchase, they are as good a reel for the average guy as there is.
Quillback Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I've heard a lot of good reviews on the Lews baitcasters, I hve os many dang reels that I don't need another one, but maybe one of these days I'll pick one up.
Lvn2Fish Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 You can buy them at sportsmans warehouse and academy in Springfield . I suggest the new BB1. There are several different gear ratios and two different models. One has anti reverse and one has a limited slip. I suggest the one with true anti reverse , unless your fishing strictly crank baits and jerk baits. They are a very nice smooth reel. I will never buy another reel if its not from lews.
