LittleRedFisherman Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Just now, J-Doc said: If that's gar, thats a ton of them. I've never seen that many grouped up like that before. This was in th delta part. They were hitting water like crazy. It was deepest hole in a stretch of river so coils of been some carp and buffalo mixed in but for sure a lot of gar were there. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
grizwilson Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I am not good at this, but practicing. I think I do see gar on the fringe, which would be supported by your viewing, near the surface, but the deeper fish appear to be shorter.... Walleye, White bass, catfish, carp, buffalo, suckers? I do not know. Just my guess. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

LittleRedFisherman Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Went up an old ditch that runs into the river looking for crappie, the water has fell out fishing stunk but had a ton of carp and drum that showed up well on the side scan ! dan hufferd and grizwilson 2 There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
liphunter Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I am mounting a garmin echomap plus 73sv chartplotter/fishfinder combo on my boat. Like some anglers on here, I didn't take the time to learn what I was really seeing on my old hummingbird. But between this forum and and the internet, I am learning a ton, and realize what a tool this will be. Can't thank people enough for there knowledge and input. When I get out there, and get a handle on this thing, I'll post some screen shots. Like my wife said. "Now I cannot catch more and better quality fish" She's so wise. lol Can't wait to get out there. Thanks again. J-Doc 1 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???

dan hufferd Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Here is mine. Lowrance hdi Bridgeport area, crappie feeding on bait fish, July. And some time in the winter (November) deep suspended walleye with shallower bait fish.
