Smalliebigs Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Wacha Wacha......put that in your pipe a smoke it you buttPirates. The Cardinals future is very bright!!!!!! Wednesday will be another nail biter
Jerry Rapp Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 yep, whatever happens this year is a bonus. With the young pitchers the future is very bright. And you have Shelby Miller sitting right behind Wainwright in game 5 if needed.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 7, 2013 Root Admin Posted October 7, 2013 I knew he should have walked Alverez... give him nothing to hit! He's a Cardinal Killer!! They pulled it out... Should do good in St Louie Wednesday. But if the Pirates beat us, I wish them well. They're a good group of guys who I think should go far in the playoffs. "No series win since 1979?!" Wow!!
exiledguide Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Talk about a nail biter. Kept me on the edge of my seat.
Jerry Rapp Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 yea Phil, the Pirates are due. It is now down to a one game playoff.
joeD Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 A 20 year old one year removed from college dealt aspirin tablets to Pittsburgh. Incredible pitching performance by Wacha. Bully for Matheny for choosing him.
moguy1973 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 You know what really pisses me off about the MLB right now, is why is it that the most recent World Series Champion that is still in the playoffs has to settle for playing in the afternoon when their fans cannot watch them play because they are at work instead of getting a prime time spot. Just sayin. Great game by Wacha today BTW...two games in a row where he had a NoNo going into at least the 8th inning...This guy is going to be a stud for the Cardinals... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Quillback Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Tuned in just when Alvarez hit the homer, didn't realize it was the first hit until I saw the line score. Is this going to be another "Cardiac Cards" playoff run?
Lancer09 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I hope not, I can't take the drama. They should just lose (ducks) I'm a royals fan.
stlfisher Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 The future for the Cardinal is very bright. I think they will be better next year and for the next several years. Just look at the choices they have for starting pitching next year. Waino Wacha Miller Martinez Kelly Siegrist (Bullpen most likely) Lynn Garcia Lyons Gast They also have some very interesting decisions to make regarding position players. First David Freese will not be resigned IMO and Beltran is a tough call. He has been very good, but he is getting older and keeping him essentially blocks Taveres and Wong from getting a shot. It also makes it difficult to play both Adams and Craig at the same time. I am really torn on Beltran, but I think the Cardinals let him walk.
