Feathers and Fins Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 4'' in rogers and temp showing 14 with 12mph wind. On a bright note maybe not so many ticks, chiggers and skeeters this year. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Blazerman Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Yup one good thing about the big chill. Back when i was in the landscape businnes whenever the grubs and bugs would be real bad we would always say it didn't get cold enough last winter. So you would think the next couple nights will be cold enough to kill plenty of the pests that survive the warmer winters.
blue79 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Got 6 inches here in Stockton with 2 foot drifts. Was supposed to only get 1 1/2in.Cant wait to see how this hard freeze and the spring rains will affect the mushrooms. My spots havent produced much the last 3 years.
gotmuddy Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 wind is blowing 20mph and temp is dropping by the hour. glad to be inside and really glad my wood is piled in the basement everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Quillback Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Just saw an eagle fly by outside. There's a few that hang around the local lakes, but it's unusual to see one fly by the house.
jerry241 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Headed to Baltimore Md. This morning with a load of air conditioners( kinda ironic I think) going across I-40 then up I-81 ran out of snow at Rudy ar. But pretty sure I'll catch it again somewhere. Really wanted to fish this weekend but there will be others I hope... y'all be safe in this mess and stay warm
moguy1973 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Here in the southern suburbs of St. Louis we ended up with 9-9.5" of really light fluffy snow. Great snow for my single stage gas snow blower. Took care of my 4 car drive way in about 15 minutes today. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Gavin Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 We had a great float today, but it took me 5 hours to drive back to St. Louis from the Current. Lots of little cars and tractor trailers in the ditch today.

Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
