And yes 3 of the 5 Rapala DT models (DT 4-16) in that color are sold out on Tackle Warehouse and are on back order. If you have some SELL! SELL! SELL!

All of this color are now sold out on Tackle Warehouse. Hilarious.

So after it was obvious that he had boxed all the weight he needed to secure a high finish (possibly a win), he then reached for something from one of his sponsors so he could say he "used it" since he was more or less obligated to do so.

Competitive fishing is still cool and I really do dig it alot. The "reality show" direction that it has been headed in for years now is the only real turn-off for me.

"I'm young, handsome, and ambitious, Please root for me".

"I'm a godly man and live by the black book, Please root AND PRAY for ME".

"I'm a clown, I'm funny and act silly when I catch a fish, Please root for ME".

"I'm timid and soft spoken, and carrying on my fathers legacy, Please root for Me".

So on and so forth....

The character cast is cheesy and unoriginal. ( IMO )

Someone needs to enter the circuit as the "unnamed angler" in plain clothes and in a plain looking boat..... and just start freakin RULING the weigh-ins!

"Just leave the Pay to the order of BLANK please. Thank you".

Unfortunately that's just how it is. They have to mention sponsors to keep their ride. I think everyone understands that. I let it go through one ear and out the other. I get it. The older I get the more I realize that he could have caught those fish on a bunch of different crankbaits. Just got to use the right color and depth. There are few exceptions(wiggle wart) that might be different. All this gear is good now a days. I met Howell on the water at Grand last year. I was following Skeet. Howell was back behind a bunch of sail boats throwing a jerkbait. He was as nice as any angler I've ever met. He was telling us about breaking 3 Megabass earlier that day. Shooting the breeze like no big deal. Cool guy.

Here's my favorite - the big eyes are what draws in the lunkers.

I can't believe this is still going. Three things are obvious to me....

A. Some of you do not have access to water and cannot go fishing (lake still froze over?)

B. Some of you NEED access to water to go fishing :P

C. Someone will always be unhappy about pro's plugging their sponsors and that's never going to change

So let's all go fishing and report back with pictures of fish. We can all agree that we like looking at photos of big fish WE catch..... :secret-laugh:

This.

I am from Missouri, and I have been shown. http://www.bassmaster.com/video/randy-howells-day-3-afternoon-charge he weighed at least 1 fish caught on the Livingston.

I was going to post that video as well. It removes all doubt wether he used the livingston lure. The man is obviously tells the truth.

I do believe he could have used any number of different cranks in a similar color that would dive to the depth he wanted and still caught fish.

I do not know about the lure but i sure wish we had more bank lines likr that in lower LOZ. The minute i seen the video come on and the color of the water I knew he was right on them for this time of year especially.

That is the truth for sure. maybe even a different color. Who knows. But i can tell you by looking at the rip rap I sure would not have tried anything else other than a crank bait. That bait of that type would come thru there and not give you a lot of hang ups. He was able to stand off and not disturb anything.
