moguy1973 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 27 1/2lbs for Randall Tharp for day one. That's a lot of big fish. I did relatively well overall with my Fantasy picks as I have Roumbainis, Walker, and Carden in the top 5. My other 2 didn't so do well. Skeet Reese is Mr. Choke extraordinaire and Jordan Lee didn't do so well either. Unless you were named Tharp or Evers it looked like a pretty tough bite out there. Roumbainis with a 9lb 3oz hog for big bass though. Biggest Guntersville Classic bass in history. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
J-Doc Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I feel bad for Gerald Swindle. He had a lot of pressure put on him. I bet he barely slept last night and then he struggled to catch a small 2lb bass. I bet he barely sleeps tonight too. Will be hard for him to put on a smile and talk to fans and support sponsors tat the expo Sunday if he doesn't do better. Poor guy. He's a great angler an d great guy but he pulled the short straw today. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Quillback Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 That's a big bag for sure. Doesn't look like any of the AR guys are going to be contenders. Poor Swindle is bringing up the rear, being that he's local to G'ville I thought he'd do OK.

Quillback Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Martens has started the day with a 4.5 lb. fish.
Bill Babler Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Over 90 lbs.? That would be something. I hear ripping those Traps out of grass is a popular technique on that lake. Sounds like a lot of fun. If you have never done it, I will tell you now it is not fun. Just about the same as throwing an A-Rig and working a DD22 all day. We do it on Fork, and I usually quit after an hour. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Nope, never done it. Doesn't sound like fun now.

Jerry Rapp Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 one of the no-names (Mueller?) , supposedly has 30+ lbs today. Semi verified at the ramp. The BassTrack thing showed him at 4lbs all day. He probably had a marshall with no computer skills, who just wanted to watch the fishing.
Quillback Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Edwin takes the lead by an ounce. It's a close one!
