Sprint21fter Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Versatility will be main thing. Seems like when the pro's get here except for a couple of years ago when FLW was here that normally a front will blow thru. Fishing will be solid for two days and then once the high skys come in the fish get into their usual funky mood and slowing down with some jigs or finesse stuff puts them over the top. I look for consisitancy being the overall winner here. They way things look is that the James River and Long Creek will be a big player depending upon how much rain we are to be getting. The Mid-lake section from KC-Campbell Point could bust loose with possible rain and warm weather leading up to the event. It will be a good FISHING tournament instead of bed-fish/blind fishing tournmant. These guys will catch them no matter the conditions and the way the weather is looking they are going WHACK them.
fishingaddiction Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I would think Stacey King has a real shot. Maybe he doesn't fish Bassmaster though. He had a good showing at one of the tourneys a few years ago. Come to think of it maybe that was FLW. I think you are referring to Stacey's finish in the FLW Beaver Lake derby in 2011 I believe. He finished 3rd or 4th, just barely out of winning it all. This was prior to FLW changing the event to early spring instead of late winter. I remember watching the final day weigh in. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Alex Heitman Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Stacey won the PAA here a few years back. When the water was real stained.

I agree Sprint. The angler that is most versatile and can forget what caught them yesterday or the day before will win. The winner will be skilled with numerous techniques that work on highland lakes: crank, blade, jig, grub, sticker, and all the finesse stuff. The pro's will smoke them unless the worst possible weather happens. Hard to predict where the majority of the fish will be located until we see what the water temp and conditions are. Born to Fish. crazy4fishin Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I pulled this off the B.A.S.S. website about how TR will fish.....a warning to the Brandon critics they do quote him Just giving you all a bad time....... http://www.bassmaster.com/news/elite-pros-have-solid-prospects-table-rock C4F Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker

I was there in 2012 I think it was and it was real stained in long creek up to the 86 bridge and it was around 80 degrees in March. I think Stacey was in top three going into the final day. Now that I think about it he fell off the last day but I recall seeing him out on the water near big cedar cove. I do believe it was an FLW event though, not sure if he does Bassmasters. I'm pretty sure he is from reed's springs.

That was the "hot" spring with fish on beds super early, and dingy water. Guy from NC/SC won it flipping up Long Creek, and Shuffield's boy finished high with the Swim N Frenzy A-rig. Read the BASSmaster story. Not sure I would say all the Ozark lakes fish the same. Table Rock might be the odd one out, with all the wood and quite a bit more color at times. Bull might be shortly down the road with the new pool level.
Alex Heitman Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Yeah I don't think the white river lakes fish the same all the time and that's what makes them unique. May be similar but Table Rock has a little but of everything in it. It changes from day to day as we all know.
Sore Thumbs Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Funny how people label "Highland Reservoirs" to all fish a like.
OldMillRoad Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I'm hoping Brent Chapman has a strong showing. He is a class act.
